Some excellent play and plenty where he made the wrong choice and/or made a poor final ball.

He really wasnt the only one there..

Mario, AJ and Jo (barring one great ball) all suffered from the same problem.

Thought apart from the goal (what a goal) shauny outperformed aj tonight also thought jo did well again and could become a useful squad player for us as I think it's more likely ade and roque will be shipped out jan

Aye, a couple of runs he made reminded me of SWP of old. Y'know, the ones where it looks like he's forgot the ball but BLAOW!! He's still got it!

SWP worked hard tonight and tracked back really well.

But his forward play unfortunately was really poor. Nearly all of his passes went amiss and the few times he made some good runs or got into a good position his final delivery was poor. He's definitely a good squad player to have around though and he showed that tonight, but he's a very long way from being a first team regular.

I thought he was better than AJ though. AJ such some great glimpses of the skill and ability he has, however, lost the ball pretty much every time he had it. BUT...he scored a fantastic goal. He just needs to get his decision-making right - he has a lot of tools already!

I thought he was great, but this was hardly the toughest team in the competition, or group, or even the hardest team we'll take on this week.

The workrate was back, which was good to see but I doubt there's a player in the Prem who wastes possession as much or runs down as many blind alleys. I noticed Bob shouted at him when he passed the ball to the ballboy rather than Jo in a 3 v 3 break & after that, he barely wasted a ball, so he can do it. He's thick as shit these days though & unfortunately I can't see him being at City next season unless he really has a look at his game.

Final ball is still atrocious but you couldn't fault his workrate and his enthusiasm last night. Well played lad!

Really pleased he got a full game last night and, on the whole, I thought he did well. Still makes me smile when he uses his little physique to spin out of impossible situations, yet still infuriates with the end product a lot of the time.

Hope he stays in January, love the little guy

He was all over the place last night, centrally and at the back too - very impressive.

I must have watched a different game, as imo he was shite again. Can't even control the ball and his crossing / passing was awful. The only thing he brings to the team is workrate and it isn't enough. Sorry Shaun - off you go.

He was really good last night, no doubt about it. Not the best opposition but there was definite glimpses of wht he used to do regularly.

I hope he stays, because he's a fantastic squad player to have.

I thought he played well and looked more like himself. I still love watching him when he is in from and hope that he stays and turns things round. He's one of ours.

I thought he played really well, considering how long it's been since a start in the first team.
As always with SWP, he didn't seem to tire as much as you would expect for someone his age with the lack of first team football and playing a full 90 minutes.

His final ball was awful, but sometimes it was a relief to see that he spotted how useless Jo was with the ball / infront of goal so tried the harder option just incase that paid off, rather than let Jo waste it!

He's done a few things with that performance:
- Puts pressure on the other wide players (Milner, Johnson and Silva to an extent) adding further competition for the places. Hopefully will make them improve their game to keep their place.
- Made a good point to Mancini that he should be on the bench / in the first team squad, more often than what he is
- shows other clubs he has still got it (never really had the greatest delivery) and it wouldn't be a risk by buying him in Janurary.

I thought he was pretty average. I'd love to sing his praises, but he was at an acceptable level for me the other night, rather than playing anywhere near as well as I hope he still can.

It's better than him being below par, which has been more commonplace of late.

I thought he worked hard and covered a lot of ground but it came to nothing. I cannot think of 5 good performances since his return. I'd put him in the bargain bin in Summer if he cant go at RRP in the January sales.
