Help

Postby Curlie » Wed Dec 01, 2010 4:58 pm

Flight from Belfast diverted to Birmingham as Manchester Airport closed.
Does anyone know the quickest way to Manchester or do I just accept I'll miss another game.
No luck at all. Only get over 3 or 4 times a season and missed two last year because of volcano and snow last season.
City are coming to get you!

1738 hrs from Airport, arriving Manc at 1939 hrs. Quick taxi ride and Fanny's your Aunty.

Other than that, you're fucked.

Anyone know how much a taxi from Liverpool would be.

Had a quick scout around for you, there was one from Manchester City Centre to Liverpool ~£58. I figure it's the going to be roughly the same going the other way.

Also found this website...

http://www.southliverpooltaxis.co.uk/

Where they can't spell SERVICES correctly....funny.

They do have a fare calculator which said £50.80 though.

I'd take a wild guess at around the £50 mark

Cheers everyone.
Still in Birmingham but it looks like taxi from Liverpool.
A few others heading to the game on board, so cost will be shared.
Cheers again

But that would mean bus or taxi to the train station, and then a cab from the station in Manchester. A taxi straight to coms is surely faster (all though probably more expensive).

You might be right Nool. Although the traffic might be slow too. Used to travel that route every day.

Anyway, nearest Train station is Hunts Cross. 8mins by bus. quicker by taxi.

18:43 Hunts Cross [HNX] platform 2 to Manchester Oxford Road [MCO] arr 19:36 journey time 0h 53m

That is tight as nats arse but it as an option.

If there's a few sharing, it's probably only a few quid more each to get the taxi.

I'll try to remember that! I usually fly to JOhn Lennon when going to Manchester, but have always just taken the bus from the airport to Piccadilly. Your suggestion might be a better option.

Mate me and my mrs had to fly into Liverpool before because of excessive drinking and missing the original flight that morning.

Long story short, taxi to manchester was 50 quid and you're there in a jiffy.

fingers crossed you'll be good. I know how you feel!

Bus sounds pretty easy though tbh unless it only once every two hours or something.
