Can anyone pronounce Gnégnéri ?

Postby Dubaimancityfan » Mon Nov 22, 2010 5:25 pm

Apparently Yaya's first name (Gnégnéri Yaya Touré) according to Wikpedia.
Saw the name G. Toure on http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/chalkboards/create so I had to look it up.

I'd go with 'nye-nyehri (with the apostrophe approximating the 'g' in 'gneiss').

I have been told it is pronounced yen yeri, the G sounds like a Y as in the word reign.

However I was told this by a bloke called Carl from Moston.

Surely in that case it would be Yenie Yenieri

Accent e ... é is pronounced ay as in Touré

So that clue would make it something like YayYayri
