Or preferably at half time at our next home game with each supporter given a bag of potatoes, each in the image of Platt's potato head, to throw at him.

You don't get it mate, by the looks of it he has done it to protect the manager.

i dunno...probably to make TYY look bad, and to ensure that Mancini doesn't?
If these "overpaid" primadonnas are exhibiting behavior that needs to be reigned in, and Mancini's story for Khaldoon is that he needs to tighten his grip and beat some folks down then it becomes easier if said overpaid superstars are doing embarrassing things or unusual things in the press that most footballers wouldn't typically do, such as leave a fuclin match at HT to "beat traffic." it shows the kind of mercenary mentality that Mancini is trying to corral.
Platt is Mancini's man. Platt loves Mancini and could give two fucks about City in the long term. Nothing unusual about that. He has a boss. His boss happens to manage Manchester City Football Club and he wants to protect his boss's rep and the tabloid stories that might zing him with some arrows. Those instincts from Platt are not unhealthy in my opinion. it is very uh...Machiavellian however in its execution. Not a good sign for where this ship is heading in terms of players supporting the manager.
Also, i thought Platt's post-match interview yesterday was decent...and he seemed to both accept the criticisms and be bothered by them in a positive fashion.
cheers
