Money has ruined us

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about and I'll take that comment with the total disrespect that it was meant to say. I think it is the opposite way around and you cannot handle the fact that some people don't see Mancini in the same light as you do and decided to express an opinion.

Today I was totally shocked with the booing at half-time (it woke me up) and even more at the venomous attacks towards the manager. I'm there to support the team, not to ridicule it. But can you blame them when they have to watch games like that week in/week out?

So, now I've been labelled as the nouveau City fan who wants instant success that money obviously brings, I can now live safe in the knowledge that others can look down upon me knowing that my views have no worth whatsoever. Thanks pal, I'll know not to post next time and ensure I don't say it as I see it and insist that everyone now refers to Mancini as the 'Second Coming'.

Apologies beefy, i was under the impression that you took part in the booing and the chants of "you don't know what you are doing", looking back i got it wrong.

My point still stands and applies to those who took part.

See, that's the mist getting to you again, get him out of your head man. If you read some more, you'd also notice that I'm not calling for Mancio's head and do want him to succeed. Debating these points is part of this boards remit and by doing so allows others to take in a broad range of opinions from a very wide fanbase, and by labelling an individual as you did was very similar to what those fans did today and what you are trying to say is wrong.

No harm done though mate, I don't insult easily and don't take exception to your views. Just get your fucking facts right next time, OK ;-)

tbf it's this forum, it's badly designed, makes my eyes go funny ;-)

even though i give it on here and am quite aggressive with my opinions especially with mancini i like to think i let all the steam off on here which i wish alot of city fans would of done instead of doing it at the ground where it never achieves anything.

My point still stands on what city fans have become but glad that we are best mates again ;-)

If you think booing the team and manager is something new, you must have been watching games for about a fortnight.

We haven't even had the 'sack the board' demo yet.

Lighten up or go and set up FC City. After watching that bunch of effort shy prima donnas, led by someone who takes off a forward to make us more attacking, the last thing I need is someone saying it's my fault.

Mancini is out of his depth in a big boy's league. He's not good enough. Get over it.

Well, one day they might. Flog us off to a consortium lead by Ken Bates, and go and buy another club whose fans have a more secure grip on the realities of life.

I'm totally & utterly against booing the team & the manager & I certainly don't want Mancini sacked but even so, this is just about the biggest load of shite thread I've ever read & makes me wonder if the OP only started watching City since the takeover.

Boring football has ALWAYS been bood off at City & traditionally Managers who don't change it get driven out. MCFC has a history of attacking football & Mancini will have to learn how to attack if he's to stay as manager.

City fans have changed my fucking arse. I actually have yet to meet anyone who has"started supporting city" post Frank/Mansour....all of the fans are the same blues who have endured years of shit and humiliation.

I think it is pretty understandable, considering the team and squad and "amazing facilities" and backroom staff we are supposed to now have, that piss poor efforts like we have seen served up this season all too frequently get short shrift from the people who pay good money to attend.

I doubt very much that I would have booed, I don't agree with it as I think it is largely counterproductive. But I equally don't agree with sanctimonious shite telling people that they have "been ruined" by newfound wealth.

Expectations have increased and rightly so. Yesterday was totally utterly unacceptable and if the OP thinks that people should just put up and shut up, maintaining faith in the Great One's "Master Plan"....well he is in cloud cuckoo land.

City fans are passionate, always were, are now and always will be. We tend to wear our blue hearts very publicly on our sleeves and leave the World in no doubt as to whether we are happy, sad, hysterical or angry. Don't for one moment consider that the black humour we were famous for during our wilderness years was a happy go lucky thing...it wasn't...It was a coping mechanism, it was by laughing at ourselves and creating a gallows scenario for ourselves, that we coped with the pain and suffering City put us through.

"Alan Ball-football genius"...it hid the pain of being mullered at Anfield twice in the same week. It wasn't a celebration. We bonded together as city fans, each one understanding the next blue had suffered the same pain, wept the same tears, for the same reasons.

It is wholly understandable after so many years of such pain that many City fans are desperate for success. Even those like me who have been around the block a few times, been there, seen it, done it. Even we old heads wanted so much for City to bust the rag bastards on Wednesday. Wanted so much to eradicate our pain by inflicting pain on them. You cannot imagine (or maybe you can) how much we want to see our club sat at the very top. How much we want to look down at the rest of League below us and KNOW that Manchester City FC, truly are the best in all the land and all the World.

Almost every city fan I know (certainly most on here) are like individual pressure cookers. Love, hate, expectation, disappointment, anger, joy, sadness, hysteria...I hate it when I hear City fans booig their own but I understand it. I understand that sometimes the pressue has to be released.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

To be fair I understand where GG is coming from..fact is we are still 4th in the league..above so called lauded teams like Spurs..I could understand..like in the past..calls for the managers head..if we were slipping into the relagation zone..but at the moment we are sitting pretty..myself..I'll reserve my judgement until the end of the season..and if we don't win anything..or even finish outside the top four..I'll still be there next season..the end of the world put off for another year

35 years..and we're still....yep

So the ones complaining about the weekly shite we're being served with only started following City when the money came in?

Calm down big man. I did put thought into my comment.

When did I say the only way to win anything was by playing boring football? Some people on here seem to be expecting Barcelona-type football, but considering the low base we're starting from that will take time. Whether you like it or not, we are currently in the best position we have been in for a very long time. I want to see City achieve something more than anything else in the world, and I will not complain if we do so playing the type of football we currently are.

I think the football will improve over time with Mancini. But the fact is we must finish in the top 4 this season and we currently look on course to achieve that. A few people on here having been wanking over Spurs recently, but they have been pushing for the top 4 positions for the last 4/5 years now. Also, we are currently above them. I would love us to play great football constantly but very few teams do unfortunately.

I still have faith in Mancini and believe he can get us into the top 4 this season, and I know I'll be happy with it even if it's not particularly pretty along the way.

Let me know if I need to put more thought into my answer again.

Thanks
xx

Don't be a knob. I know full well what we've achieved, I meant in the last 30-odd years.

In the 20+ years I've been going, we've been shite for pretty much the whole period, so apologies if I don't cherish the 1976 League Cup final as much as you do.
