Tevez is off soon so signing Dzeko while we had the chance would be great business.

Another striker unproven in the Prem? No thanks. We have a striker with 61 Prem goals and a ratio of 1 every 2.2 in the squad at the moment by the way. It's just that out stubborn manager doesn't like scoring/ isn't convinced of this players 'defensive qualities'.

We all know he will be going back to Argentina soon. Lets not kid ourselves that he is here forever, getting in a player of Dzeko's qaulity and at his age before the FFP rules come in is an oppourtunity not to be missed.

I think he'll be here longer than you suggest mate. And Dzeko, I thought he wanted Italy. Seems a little pointless wishing for a player who clearly doesn't want to come, I thought they had to buy into the project?

For the x time I reply the final product will be:
4-2-3-1
with 3 plays behind a striker (Dzeko/Balo, errmm Ade?)

Edin Dzeko 4 goals in last 11 league games, not a great strike rate for a 40 million striker

You made that up didn't you?

8 goals and 1 assist in 12 league games this season.. Clearly bad..

I swear no one, I mean NO ONE, could've foreseen Schevchenko being such a flop.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

True but whatever Dzeko can or can't do, would he have made such a difference on Saturday? As I've just said on another thread, I think we need more goals from elsewhere, hence more signings, too for when Tevez is injured & Balotelli gets sent off again.

Oh, I fully agree with that. We are way too overreliant on Tevez which I've said many times as well. If Tevez has off day, that's us done.

Point of my comment was completely out of City context. I've just heard it mentioned so many times as proof of Mourinho's lack of managerial nous (although he was Abramovic's buy obviously). However, at the time EVERYONE was saying how well he'd do in Premier League because his attributes were tailormade for English football. And they were. Why he failed so spectacularily? I don't think we'll ever know but to indicate that people saw him failing in England is complete horseshit.

I agree with that. I thought he'd be unstoppable but it was as if they'd signed his grandad instead. Signing players is a hit & miss affair though as we know only too well. Ferguson has also proved that.
