The thing is, if they overturn the card cause it was wrong, they can't then revisit the issue and make it a yellow, therefore a sending off and a one match ban can they?

Not sure how the logistics of it work...I don't think they can actually turn the card from red to yellow...But I do think they can reduce the ban to coincide with a yellow being issued in the first place

I'm hearing on Sky that we have accepted a game ban but appealing the 3 game ban. What's all that about, I've never heard of that and I'm pretty sure there's not been a case of this before; are we trying to set a precedence?!?

And why have the club issued this statement, it mentions nothing about a split decision from the club:

That's the opposite of what was on the ticker bar on their news channel last time I looked. Strange business.

He might get wound up a lot, but he doesn't half wind up the opposition as well. Anyone remember Totti booting him in to next week and getting a red because he was giving him stick all match? I can imagine Wio falling for that trick easily.

He winds up opponents just right, mostly with his tricks though, although at times he does with words too, like he did with Totti. He winds up the opposition fans too. I still remember him scoring a penalty against Roma at the San Siro right under the Roma fans section, and then sticking out his tongue at them as he was celebrating, I hated it then but I'd absolutely love it if he played against United, got wound up by their fans all game then netted the winner and did the same thing to them.

Interesting that the FA are having an expedited hearing for Balotelli. In camelface's case the appeal was heard after the next game if memory serves me correct so he was able to play.
