West Brom

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

West Brom

If we struggled against Wolves this one is going to be even tougher

Di Matteo has them punching way above their weight this season and they will be well up for this

Not the best of ties to try to turn around our fortunes...

The league does seem tighter than ever at the moment. Crisis club Liverpool could be above us if they win the next 2 and we lose the next two which is entirely possible.

The Hawthorns is also one of our bogey grounds. I cannot remember the last time a city team won there. I'm sure it will be a very entertaining weekend though so it should be fun regardless.

They have got every reason to be confident going into this game.. which might just be a saving grace for us this time round.

For Mancini and the squad im not sure they think they could get much lower than they should currently be feeling.. i would expect a reaction on that basis. If it starts to go tits up i would expect to see some serious reaction from both Mancini and the players.

Tbh West Brom usually play attacking, cavallier, entertaining football so unfortunately for them, we have the antidote.

So we could be going into the 'Battle for Champions League' game this weekend, or some other shit slant from Sky.

I can... 2nd November 2002.. WBA 1-2 City.. Goater & Anelka the goalscorers... strangely enough we went on to beat some team from the Stretford area in the next league match.

The whole programme will be filled with "if you look at the performances, West Brom look more like the side who..blah blah blah etc etc" & how Fred Scuttlebottom the 47 year old midfielder & former tyrefitter from Rotherham is actually a better player than David Silva etc.

It's our own fucking fault for losing to Wolves & Sunderland though I suppose.

I think we will see a reaction from City at WBA and the performance will be miles better than v Wolves. Doesnt mean we will automatically win though as I think WBA .A friend who is an Albion fan this De Matteo is real quality and will move up the managerial ladder quite quickly. He reckons he is a master tactician and if there is a weakness in the opposition he will find it and similarly if his team is getting found out he makes changes to counter it.

Having said all that we have the better individual players so all we need to do is match them tactically, match them for effort and we win. Simples.

Di Matteo is Swiss but because of his parents ended up playing for Italy - he has dual Citizenship. He really is a nice guy, speaks fluent German , Italian , obviously and very good English. He is very well liked here, I think he played for Aarau before he moved on to Italy and then for Chelsea. He is a canny manager and I'm sure he will do well, if not for WBA, which are definitely punching above their weight, but elsewhere in the PL. I would be pleased if Blackpool keep them at bay tonight, if only to slow down their little march.
