Agreed, thought he was the business tonight. As blue wine says he allowed Barry, Toure and Milner to have a rest tonight so they're ready for the gooners.

Well done PV

I thought he had a really good game too, solid and dependable.

MOM for me.... I know ade scored 3 goals, but he only had 3 good touches all game. Vieira looked classy all game however!

really impressed and i take it all back Pat.. well deserved of a place in the 25.. and more.

aside from that i thought him and Zabba were kind of good looking after each other, especially in the first half.

Superb for me as well tonight ... I wouldn't go as far to say he deserves his place in the proper 25 man squad mind based on his other appearences but he's deffo worth his Ewaffa squad place!

This is pretty much why he is in the squad. I was pretty much on my own thinking that taking him in that 25 man squad was decent move but I hope people see what I meant. He is never going to be our star player but the calming influence he brings when we are leading the game or against little bit weaker oppositions in Europe is priceless. We used to always screw games like this because we didn't have player like him.

My only worry is that people are starting see that he isn't so bad after all as for me he has served another great purpose of being a boo boy who can deal with it (I know no one has actually boo'ed him but he hasn't exactly been fan favourite has he?).
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I'm totally with you, and I think that the team really missed a player - or even father figure - like him last autumn, when Dietmar had just been released. He served pretty much the same purpose.
