Hart
Boateng (Richards) Touré Kompany Kolarov
De Jong
Yaya Milner (Barry)
Silva Balotelli
Tevez
And then bring on Ade or AJ if there's need later in the game.

Seeing as we currently don't, (although it was a bit better v Blackpool tbf) all 4-4-2 does is make us look less solid defensively & imo changing to it cost Hughes his job. When we use it with Mancini the defence looks just as bad as it did under Hughes as people get pulled out of position.
If we want to get more attacking players into the team, I think variations of 4-3-3 (4-2-3-1/ 4-1-3-2/ 4-3-2-1/ 4-2-2-2) are the way to go. Front 3 could be a rotation between Tevez, Balotelli, Silva, AJ & Ade & could have one further forward with the other two tucked behind or two forward with one behind etc etc. Loads of options which can be tweaked during a game.
Midfield could be rotated between Milner, Barry, De Jong, Yaya, even SWP (who could also play in the front 3). You can still play 4-3-3 & be tight defensively if you pull 9 behind the ball when defending. You could have 3 holding midfielders & send the fullbacks forward or alternately get everyone forward when attacking & everyone back when defending. It's all about attitude & hard work to make it happen imo.

no Silva? or are we assuming it would be him or AJ?
brite blu sky wrote:David Silva's superb goal will have done him a world of good.. Tevez has got his touch back, AJ has a lot to prove and Milner looks like he is desperate to get a goal, Balotelli is going to make an appearance soon and Adebayor knows he has to get in there now.
We have some great players of that there is no doubt. Im not sure whether im thinking this for the Arsenal game, but im wondering what formation we could adopt to have Adebayor, Tevez and Silva as the frontmost three. Or is it more obvious to include Milner and assume a 4-4-2
The only way i can think of a 4-3-3 is to drop Milner back alongside Barry or Yaya with deJong as usual behind. In effect
deJong
Yaya Milner
Silva Tevez
Adebayor
Anyone got any better suggestions?

Bobby has officially said that he "may rest him for one of the two games this week". I'll show my arse in Burtons window if it's the gooners game mate.
Bobby does have the occasional strange team selection though:o(
