Blackpool Fans!

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Blackpool Fans!

Postby lythamblue » Fri Oct 08, 2010 3:09 pm

Jesus H Christ ....... they are starting to bug the hell out of me, they are becoming almost as bad as Manyoo fans.

Since they beat L'pool, I seem continually bombarded by them as they constantly try to tell me how we are going to get beaten next Sunday ...... because they are really up for it, Holloway is a great manager, all our mercenaries won't know what's hit them etc, etc, etc. They don't seem to realise that maybe our players might have something to say about all that and might actually want to win the game themselves.

What seems to make things worse, is that many of them are all Jonny come lately season ticket holders who not only never bothered going until they got into the Premiership ...... but actually supported teams like Manyoo and Liverpool up until now!

All of sudden they are not just 'Blackpool Fans' .... but football officianado's. They fail to realise that the other teams players will be just as 'motivated' to win as their players are and will have played in much more pressurised situations and environments than 15 thousand at Bloomfield Rd will ever create.

They seem to think the football world evolves round them at the moment and probably haven't realised that in these types of games a win to teams like us is probably more important to us than it is to them.

They won't listen to the fact that even after their start, they are still the favourites to go down because 38 games will eventually sort out the men from the boys and normal service will be resumed when they are relegated. They even suggested that as a 'City Fan' what "would I know about Premiership survival", before I had to remind them that as a 'City Fan' I knew a damn sight more about what is needed to fight Premiership relegation battles than they did ...... having been through many of them over the years.

I even had one of them actually believing that the squad they have (and Ian Holloway) will be fighting it out for a Europa Cup slot come the end of the season!!

I used to like Blackpool, they were my second team and because of where I live I used to pop down a few games per season when City weren't playing. I was mates with Colin Hendry when he was manager and used to pop in to his office for a cup of tea or a chat after the game sometimes. I even went to watch them in a play off final.

Now ..... I am starting to actually hope they do get relegated. Is this sad or just an indictment of modern football fans?

Give them their time mate, I'm pretty sure it won't last. After Sunday, you can just say 'Told you so', and walk away satisfied that you've done the right thing. Alternatively you can tell 'em to feck off and stick the nut on 'em.

The choice is yours ;-)

Anyway, get yourself back to Carrington, there's no-one to keep an eye on Dougie keeping an eye on the players.

They're just still a bit giddy after their promotion and some favourable results (winning away to Newcastle & Liverpool isn't to be sniffed at) and they are enjoying their time. Deep down they know that 4th from bottom will constitute a tremendous season for them.

Actually, now is the perfect time to get things done at Carrington because they are all on the way back from Abu Dhabi and the place is like a ghost town.

Anyway, I know what you are saying about B'pool fans but they do come across as either disrespectful or maybe ..... just naive.

Ok, I realise that they have only had two home games against B'Burn and Fulham and therefore we are probably the first team to go there with big name players, and therefore the whole town is buzzing etc, but you would have thought that they would have a bit more respect for the teams they are about to play. After all, we do have players who have played in WC Finals, CL Finals and won Domestic doubles in England, France, Spain etc and will therefore not be over intimidated playing at Bloomfield Rd against them.

If I was them, I would be taking the line of " I'm not expecting much in terms of a positive result, but still looking forward to the game because it's great to be playing against teams like you" etc, but they are just continually coming out with all this "you are going to get battered" .... bollox!

As I say, I can't work out as to whether they are full of shit and bravado ...... or naive as to how good they actually are.

Your too nice and gentlemanly for your own good Mr. Lyth !! - you need to spend some of your time with yours truly, after spending time in the army and also 24 yrs in the casino industry I think I have a whole fucking book on insulting people without mercy.

A simple go fuck yourself ....losers always works in these situations.

I reckon it's all bravado mate, and that they are loving what they've done. Remember back in the day when a lot of our fans weren't arsed what we did in the league as long as we beat United; it's a bit similar to that really. They have the release of beating a former Big 4 team and they are letting everyone know it.

Whatever happens next Sunday, I'm sure they'll walk away with a smile on their faces.

I'm not sure that they do though!

They have quite a few Jonny come latelys that haven't previously been too into football at this kind of level and actually think they should be beating most teams, and moan when they don't.

Many were going nuts when they lost to B'Burn, as if they were expecting to easily beat 'teams like that'!

Madness!

All three blackpool fans I have met are former munichs turned because of cheap premiership football, i'd not worry too much if I were you, next season they will be down and these cunts will go back to supporting the munes. Its a shame that premiership football attracts arseholes. Look at Wigan, its just a mongrel of munes and scouse overflow.

them winning at anfield should be good for us - if any of our players were thinking it was going to be an easy match, that should be the wake up call, regardless of how poor liverpool was.

Blackpool plays attacking football, which should help our counter attacking style. It's teams like Blackburn who doesn't try to play who cause up the problems.

Should be a good game and there's no excuse if the quality doesn't ultimately shine through

well wouldn't you be excited if everyone was saying you were going straight back down? regardless of liveprool's situation, a win at anfield is still a pretty precious thing let them enjoy it!

Blackpool fans remind me of none football fans when the World Cup is on. All of a sudden they are fuclin experts on everything and can't wait to share their 'knowledge' anybody and everybody.

Hopefully we will teach them a lesson and they will get back in their box.

Hate to say it bt this thread makes us sound like united.

Fuck me when we were shit I still told big four fans we'd do em, it's half the bloodyfun of being a fan, the banter.

Lighten up and just give some back, we've no divine right to beat these teams and they shouldn't just accept it.
Tracking back is overrated.

I'd be a bit more apprehensive if we were home, because they're a strange team this lot.

However they will still be relegated, easily. Seen it all before.
