Training Thursday 23/9

Postby Wonderwall » Thu Sep 23, 2010 6:35 pm

Doug is not there today and Neil PM'd me his report as he couldnt start topics, which will be changed shortly

Went along today, hoping to see most of the first team squad.

The only ones who were missing were SWP, Bridge, AJ, Richards, Kolarov and Given, the subs from last night were involved as was MJ.

The usual drills, ball work, fitness etc. The Hill was used for the first time today by Milner, Kompany and Silva, Ivan the fitness coach says it develops more power in the legs

Mancini then took the squad inside the iron curtain to work on set piece defending for the Chelsea game, looked good and organised, although discretion says that i won't post the detail on that bit.

Boateng and Lescott both trained well and looked sharp, there was an incident with Kolo at the start where he turned his ankle a little but carried on after a little treatment.

Will be there again tomorrow for a full report on who's fit and not

Cheers Neil

Hello Foggy

Match fit? Not so sure mate, but taking a full part in training, Mancini did come over and have a brief chat with JB at the end of the session, all seemed ok, he might be an outside bet for Saturday. Lescott looked in good order, it's a problem for me and DH we don't seem to be able to get close enough to the coaches for our private update, so i can't say for sure how close he is too.

Nice one - I'm taking that as a positive. The way injuries have hit the squad of late, JB and Lescott being able to take a full part in training is a bonus. Thanks again.

Cheers Neil.

Glad to hear Lescott is training & that we're concentrating on their set plays. He'll help defending those & if they were going to score it's probably more than 50% likely it would be from a set piece.
