What would you go for?
Hart
Micah (assuming he is fit)
Zaba
Toure
Kompany
Yaya
Milner
NDJ
Silva
Johnson
Tevez
As much as i rate barry and i do think he is very important for us, i have left him out. Yaya and milner would provide us with the energy and a bit of an attacking threat with de jong doing what he does best.
If we are looking nervy in the 1st half id bring barry on to settle the midfield down.

I dont think boateng or micah are fit ... so I'm going to say
-----------Hart
milner kompo toure zabba
----------De jong
------yaya------Barry
AJ--------------------Silva
----------Tevez
edit: fixed that; double edit: meant hart instead of given.
also, I don't think barry should play left back ... he is way too slow, we would be getting bombed from the flank the whole time, and drogba will put those away.

i highly doubt boateng will be fit going off what mancini has said about our defensive crisis.
milner at RB would be a decent bet if micah is also out.

If Micah's not fit I'd go with:
---------------Hart
----Zab--Kolo--Vinny--Barry
-------Yaya--NDJ--Milner
----A.Johnson----Tevez----Silva
But I've got a feeling he'll go with SWP instead of Johnson :/

----------------------Either GK
Richards--------Komps------Kolo------Zab
-------------------------NDJ
-----------Milner------Yaya---------Barry
------------------------Silva
-----------------------Tevez
Bench: Picks itself given injuries.
I just think that with a half-fit Micah and an out-of-position Zab, we need the cover offerd by Milner and Barry. Johnson and Silva on the wings could be catastrophic, especially given the form of Malouda and Anelka. Still plenty of attacking potential in my eleven though.

Hart
Zabaleta - Kolo - Kompany - Barry
Yaya - de Jong - Milner
AJ - Tevez - Silva.
That's obviously a team for the only 3 fit defenders scenario

I just do not want to see barry at LB ... he is just too slow. he has no acceleration, how is he going to stop a winger putting in a cross?

If we've really got a defender crisis (not just making excuses for last night) then SWP at right back all the way for me.
same front line, with SWP--Kolo--Kompo--Zabba at the back.
---------------Hart
SWP-----Kolo-----Vinny-----Zabba
-------Yaya--NDJ--Bazza
----Silva----Tevez----Milner
Shaun has always filled in perfectly at right back. Just means yaya will need to really dig in to help out on crosses etc.

As the 1st team didn't play there should be training today for the rest as normal. Perhaps Doug will update us on injuries at some point today or tomorrow.
Last i heard Boateng was thought to be in contention for return on Sat.
Also Adebadleg at least on the bench.

Someone posted somewhere that SWP had picked up a knock also and was out of the CC team as a result.
Doug! save us from all this doubt.

I don't know how you can say either GK ! I just saw the WBA match highlight and IMO both goals could have been saved by Hart. Given's positioning for both was completely wrong and both were not really top rate strikes and were saveable. Shay made some top rate saves from close distance but we all know he's good at that but overall I would never put him in ahead of Hart.

Hart
Boyata Toure Kompany Zabba
Yaya NDJ Barry
Johnson Tevez Milner
Boyata was good last year against united but will be difficult vs Malouda and cole for him so might put milner on that side to help him out. dont think silva is sharp enough for match of this tempo or boateng if hes fit

Sounds like Boateng, Lescott and Adebayor are close to returning based on training reports
so
-------------------Hart--------------
Boateng-Kompany-Toure-Lescott
-----------------De Jong------------
--AJ------------Barry-------Milner-
----------------Tevez--------------
---------------Adebayor-----------
Chelsea have lost Lampard (possibly) and Kalou and Benayon from their bench

I would go with a formation like this to stop Chelsea's full backs.
------------------------------------------------Hart---------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------Richards---------------Toure K-------------------------------Kompany
Milner-------------------------Toure Y----------NDJ------------------Barry---------------Zaballeta
Tevez---------------------Rsc.
