------------------------Given--------------------------
Zabaleta---Kompany (C)----Boyata----Cunningham
------------------Vieira----Ibrahim-------------------
-----------------------Milner---------------------------
SWP-------------------------------------------Johnson
----------------------Adebayor-------------------------

Another option would be to play Vieira and Milner in midfield, go 4-4-2 and play Jo up front with Ade. Would like Silva to get a run out too at some stage.

I'm afraid you are too close to the truth here.
We will get knocked out with that team and Oh, how the press will love it.

Is that the back line that did ok against a strong rags reserve recently?
Anyways would be interesting, im just wondering if Ade might get in there if the bruise on his leg has gone down, maybe he will be on the bench.

Brom are away at the Emirates on Sat so they might also be bearing that in mind.

Exactly - that's why they can play all of their best men tomorrow if they want to.

Stoke have made 7 changes
West Ham have made 7 changes
Bolton have made 7 changes
Everton 6 changes
Wolves 9 changes
Birmingham 9 changes

SO you might be right, perhaps they will see it as their best chance of winning something this season

The others have more or less easier matches though, matches they can get results more often than once in 15years.

Fair point though, made me realise we may well see weakened side by them too..

I dont think it has much to do with respect.. it has everything to do with the fact that we have Chelsea at 12.45 on Sat.

Bob says he will make 5, 6 or 7 changes. The mainstay mids of Barry, deJong and Yaya are going to have to put a right shift in against Chelsea we know that for sure. So the question becomes who dont you rest, play 2 games in 3 days and expect to be at their 100% best? Personally i would say Vinne and deJong, possibly Milner but thats about it.

Look at the team that played Wigan, take out 5 or 6 outfielders who are key for Chelsea and see who we have in the squad to replace them.. it aint that easy.

SWP, RSC, Silva, Boateng, Zabba Could all play and improve that team a lot.

I'm hoping it's no worse than:
Given
Zabaleta - Vinnie - Boyata - Cunningham
SWP - Vieira - Ibrahim - AJ
Jo - Ade(RSC if Ade not fit)

SWP should be in, Boateng may not be ready - Doug says, Zabba might be needed for LB duty v Chelsea.

Is Silva gonna be thrown in v Chelsea ? probs not eh!

Given
Richards, Boyata, Vinnie, Cunningham
SWP, Vieira, Silva, Ibrahim
Guidetti, Ade

tbh i haven't got a clue who he is going to pick.

The League Cup represents a genuine chance for City to win a trophy - remember them? Nope none of us do, and thats the point.

Agree with Bingo - we have absolutely no right to turn our noses up at this competition and if we field a mickey mouse team and get knocked out, it would be bloody stupid and make me fuclin livid. I would field an exceptionally strong team with the aim of winning the game, and the genuine thought of winning the comp. With Everton and Spurs going out last night we are one of the 4 strongest sides left in - dont toss it away City.
