Training Saturday 18/9

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Sat Sep 18, 2010 2:00 pm

Just a quick visit today as I wanted to get to Platt Lane for the academy game v Newcastle. Still no Lescott and also no Bridge in training today but the worst missing person was Vinnie Kompany. No idea whether a problem or just precautionary, hopefully the latter. Guidetti again with the group so I wonder if he will make the bench tomorrow.

The group taken by Mancini for some special work was as expected with 1 up top but that basically means 5 in the middle from 6. The 6 being Silva,Yaya,Milner,AJ,NDJ,Barry. I couldnt possibly reveal who was left out! Cunningham was at left back but my guess is he won't be if Vinnie is ok.

Boateng came out later and was doing plenty of gentle running and ,nice guy that I am assured he is. he made a point of saying hello to me. Ade actually came out quite early and was working 1 to 1 with a physio but he isn't ready yet. Chelsea for sure but WBA still only a possibility.

Off to the 18's and they didnt play very well today in a 2.2 draw with Newcastle. They might have won but for a shocking penalty decision given by a linesman but at least there was another top finish by Harry Bunn.

It's a bit of a concern with Vinnie, especially with all the other injuries. Maybe Dedryk will get a run-out again, Mancio does seem to like him.

I think he does like him but after training twice with him as Vinnie's partner last week he then didn't play him v Salzberg which surprised me.

Cheers Doug.

If Vinny goes missing I'll be filled with dread for every game he's not there.

I understood it was a thigh strain not a dead leg.
