oh dear robinho

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

oh dear robinho

Postby CITYSTEVEDON » Sun Sep 05, 2010 6:19 am

ROBINHO last night fired an astonishing parting shot at Manchester City accusing Roberto Mancini and Mark Hughes of running the club like an office.

The Brazilian superstar finally got his wish to leave last week when he completed an s18million move to AC Milan.

And as his transfer brought a controversial two-year spell in England to an end, Robinho let rip at the tedium of his humdrum life under both Mancini and his predecessor Hughes.

Playmaker Robinho painted a picture of life at mega-rich City that owed more to an episode of the hit BBC comedy The Office than a global football force hell-bent on conquering the world.

The 26-year-old Samba star also revealed how he:

Felt neither Hughes nor Mancini UNDERSTOOD him;

HATED living in cold, dark Manchester;

PREFERRED Old Trafford and Anfield to Eastlands;

Should never have LEFT Real Madrid ... and was on his way to Chelsea before Citys last-minute bid;

Was PROMISED City would overtake Manchester United in a couple of years;

Only RESCUED his World Cup dream by returning to his homeland on loan during last season.

In an astonishingly frank interview, Robinho, who cost City s32.5m, said: Neither Hughes nor Mancini understood me. Perhaps they only believed in the sporting side of things but that wasnt enough for me.

There was a lack of contact between the players and the club. It was much like an office to training and goodbye, to a match and goodbye. I am Brazilian and I cant offer my best performance if Im not happy in every aspect of life.

well that didnt take long for him, and hughes and mancini only belived in sporting side, ffs WE ARE A FOOTBALL CLUB, that is a sport

Did he shout the bits in capitals? The PEOPLE eh?

Tbh having read the interview, I don't think it's particularly bad or scathing about anyone. He's just being honest giving his opinion but obviously biased from his own point of view. It's pretty much what happened, told from his angle. Some of the departing players seem to feel that the club has become a bit cold towards the playing staff & who knows, perhaps it's something that could be improved? On the other hand perhaps it's because the players in question aren't up to it?

Interesting that he says Hughes talked him into signing yet Hughes was making out he was almost forced to take Robinho. Clearly he wasn't & could easily have stopped the deal going through.

Hughes is a shrewd politico in that regard i think. He's good value for money on the day. Etc.

I'm not bothered by anything Robinho says. We saw him on the pitch and little else counts. Thanks for some fantastic memories, and some pathetic performances you skinny little fucler. Go do something with your career before you completely flop for yet a 3rd time in 5 years. Will he make a difference? Unlikely, but i hope so for the sake of football.

cheers

Is there any sauce? That sounds very like the M*rror to me.
No quotes. Words probably taken out of context.

I'll comment when I've read the interview.

I read an article today while scrolling news now on Robinho where he said he would prefer not speak about City, where did all these quotes appear?
I would not be one bit surprised if he has had a go at city, it would not be out of sync as the rest of the departures have all taken a parting shot bar Bellamy and Garrido.

Sauce.............

http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/ ... -22537528/

No quotes. No quotes from 'sauces'. No anything. quality journalism.

The trouble is, nobody would be surprised if he'd actually said those things so it's actually a very plausible story.
But considering the source, also very plausibly bollocks.

The thing that makes me laugh is the fact that he appears to be labouring under the misapprehension that Milan is some kind of palmy tropical paradise.

It's a big industrial city and the weather, although it can be nice and hot....is often grey, cloudy and the airport is frequently a victim of fog. I am pretty sure that it's rainfall won't be far off Manchester's either

Yes, you can eat out better in Milan than Manchester but Milan isn't exactly a party-town....at least no more than Manchester is. It's not Rome, Rio, Barcelona that much is certain

We just need them to get knocked out of the chumps league, then draw them in the europapa. We've got a Nigel that could end the cunt, no whip round needed.

Yes Milan is fucking freezing in the winter, and glorious in the summer. Shame not much football is played in the summer.

Oh Robinho, do we hate you because your like the fit bird we shagged for 6 months, out of our league, then you realised you could do better and left us in a mess?

Or are you just a cunt.

Your track record shows your a cunt

I agree with you Ant, the weather in Milan isnt that much different to Manchester apart from in the summer, where no doubt Robson will be back in Rio anyway. He didnt get his own way so threw his rattle out the pram, he will get kicked just as hard in Italy as he did in England. I must admit I did enjoy watching him, Elano and Ireland when they played together, but it got us nowhere.

IMO he will always be a nearly man and will end up back at Santos in a couple of years. (If only he had half the bottle of Bellers, he could have become the player he seems to think he is)

What defeats me - if the quotes are to be believed - is that he says he should never have left Madrid.

The fucker was on the verge of a nervous breakdown at the end of his his time there. We threw him a lifeline , and for that he should have been grateful ...............

Even when the fucking twat leaves he still has to have a pop just fuck off, this made me laugh on the OS though "Just for the record Manchester’s average rainfall is 806mm whilst Milan Airport’s average is 985mm....buy a brolly Robi!"

As usual they've only printed selected bits. Compare this "PREFERRED Old Trafford and Anfield to Eastlands;" with this "The best stadiums are Anfield and Old Trafford because of their histories, and my best memories will be my first goal for City and how happy everyone was with me, and the support City fans gave me during my stay."

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story ... nd&cc=5739

Not that I'm defending him, after his no show at away games (Portsmouth springs to mind) I had no time fore him at all.

I find it so funny that the fans cant see that clearly theres a problem in the club, everyone is so quick to slate the ex players eventhough they all seem to be saying the same thing, its not as if its a once off, petrov,stevie, nedum,benji, robbie etc,, when chelsea got where they were going they did it with class and players didnt rip into the club the second they left, pity city cant do the same

Are you on a fucking wind up?

All of those were surplus to requirements because, in one way or another, they weren't good enough. They didn't like that they've fallen by the wayside so they have to shoot their mouths off - that says much more about them than it does about the club.
