I think we bullied liverpool when in the past we have been bullied ourselves, i dont think yaya should be playing where he is but still played well there, no matter where he plays he hardly loses the ball.

I can't choose a man of the match Tevez, Johnson, De Jong, Richards, Barry, Hart, Yaya, Kompany all had brilliant games. I not sure we had as dominate performance as that against a good side in a very long time

My daughter thought the same over near Surfers. It's probably the first time she would have preferred to be here in Manchester rather than in Aus.

Everyone is telling us it will take time for theses players
to gel. Well it looked very promising tonight we totally
outplayed Scousers tonight nothing but good times ahead
for us.

There were times when it was apparent we hadn't. Passes that cut our momentum or weight of pass wrong to match the pace of the receiver. I think we are 5 across the middle at the moment in order to protect us at the back until we start to gel.

Yaya is a beast, Johnson and Milner always ready to create havoc from the wings and Tevez, even in his lone striker role, acts as a playmaker orchestrating the offensive play, not to mention that he still know how to score (although the first was definitely Micah's) :D

Very solid display all round, the back line impressed me, especially Micah and the CBs, not to mention Hart and his phenomenal saves on N'Gog and Torres in quick succession.

Absolutely spot on.

I criticised the team selection before the game but will happily hold my hands up and say I was very, very wrong.

Agreed!! Like almost everyone else I had my doubts looking at the lineup.

I guess that's why Roberto's a coach and I'm a fan.

We're doomed! I'm sure we got relegated last time we scored 3 against scouse 1. :)

Not sure if anyone saw the banner in the scouse section that said "Money can't buy you history"...........well guess what lads, history can't buy you 3 points!!
"If we fire our manager after just one bad season - We'll become Chelsea"
"If we think we can fix the problem by buying expensive players - We'll become City"
"If we remember the good times to entertain us during the bad times - We'll become Liverpool"

So, keep calm and do it the United way

"We invest in young players, That is what we are good at — we’re not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We know that Manchester City are going to pay stupid money, pay silly salaries and all that. We can’t do anything about it. We concentrate on what we can do to try to bring players in for the right reasons. We invest in those who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club, who will create excitement for our fans. We are very proud of that and we are going to continue that way" - Alex Ferguson 14th May 2012

Perhaps the penny will finally drop with some people that just because Barry and Yaya are capable of being disciplined and playing the holding role when required that that is all they can do and that it makes them defensive midfielders! Barry played more attacking roles for years at Villa, including as a very attack minded left back when needed, it was only when England needed a holding player that he slotted in and did a job. Yaya is versatile too and reminds me of MVF with his box to box style, though his distribution is even better. Only De Jong is an out and out defensive player who cannot play a more attacking role. We looked strong and balanced.

And Hart was immense when needed. Pretty big compliment when Gray and Keys were likening him to the elder Schmeichel.

WOW!

I think that is one of the most impressive performances i've ever seen from a City side. Total control, dominance, power, drive, hunger, dedication, organisation, professionalism, skill, execution. Fucking outrageously good performance...!!!!
