Not yr *best* worst thread, but maybe top 5.

insightful and a great read.

cheers

also, try adding a "g" in there in slagging and see how that looks next time. just sayin. if yr gonna insult someone, spell at least THAT word right.

Gutted we sold him but he acted like a petulant schoolgirl by slagging us off as all footballers do. Very childish stevie and it was good to see him and his team get a real thumping. It looks like the grass really is greener over here superman. I really thought he'd become our new Colin Bell but it wasn't to be. I now view him as i do any other player from another team, with the distain and sporting hatred that comes with wearing the oppositions colours.

Amazing isn't it, how a player can go from hero to zero in a matter of days.

I watched the whole game and it was really a caricature of both Ireland and Dunne. Both contributed heavily IMO to the 6-0. Dunne with the usual howler and Ireland by his absence from a midfield over-run by Barton, Smith and Nolan FFS. Maybe some of our 'Ireland world-beater' contributors will see the light? I doubt it.

Maybe it was the manager's fault?

He wasn't my hero beefy and after his comments in the last few days, all i wanted was for the little runt to have a crap game.. Thankfully karma stepped in and i got my wish.

He was awful yesterday, the stevie we know he is, not the superman people outside the club think he is.

But what i found most striking yesterday was Villa, without Milner running the mid, looked utterly at sea. It was like we'd removed the big cog from the engine and replaced it with a little one, things just didn't work in the middle and Barton took advantage of this big time!

I honestly fear for villa, Ireland is no Milner and trying to play him in the same role as him as they were yesterday will be a massive disaster for them.

To be honest whilst Ireland was here I didn't really have much of an opinion of him...which about sums it up for me

Hopefully Milner will have a great game tonight and that 16 Mil will seem like a steal ;-)

Where are all the headlines today celebrating the fact that Milner has chose wisely and is better off after leaving Villa, and how Irelands slating of City seem to be have been very wide of the mark? Noticeable by their absence.
