That's true but it's the ref's fault that they let him off. It doesn't detract from the quality of his play. Some people on here have been talking up Ireland as some kind of worldbeating football genius. There's not one single aspect of the game that Scholes doesn't do better than Ireland & ridiculously at the moment that even includes running.
