Training Sunday 22/8

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Sun Aug 22, 2010 2:24 pm

Just a quick report as I couldnt stay for the whole session today.Too hot anyway and it was behind the fences close to the buildings.
No Robinho again along with the known injuries ( and no MJ) but it was good to see Mario out at the start. After a bit of fun in the keep ball circles Mancini took a team away to another pitch to do some of the shape work he likes to do.

It didn't last long but just enough for them to work on some attacking movements. Then he called a cross another team. The 2nd team was quite a decent team too! They too only stayed with Mancini for a short time before rejoining the rest. With all the fences around it's hard to see all that is going on but I did see Mario stop working quite early on and leave with Carminati the fitness coach, He didn't come back.

Some bad news was that Richards was definitely enjoying himself too much at one point so will undoubtedly get sacked by Mancini! They had a game of one touch passing where after 10 passes they could score in the 5 a side goals. First to score was RSC but then there were glaring misses from Jo , Tevez and Zaba but they were mostly down to tiny goals than crap finishing.

My first viewing of Milly and he looked good. Showed a good awareness all the time and a good touch but it wasn't the toughest of training sessions in the heat and with a big game ahead tomorrow.

Goodness me, I'd totally forgotten that Santa is still with us. Everyone on here seems to be omitting him in their "team against Liverpool predictions" ...;-)

Edit: Yeay! 9K a-okay!

Great commitment DH, so what do you reckon on Mario? Can't e too bad if he was out first thing? Although perhaps it was a fitness test that he subsequently failed?

He was literally first out but he never did anything remotely like a fitness test. The fact that he was out at all must mean he is close to playing. He did have quite a chat with Mancini before others came out. I reckon the little "work" he did was enough to confirm that he shouldnt extend himself at all and that's why he just went off with a fitness coach. I would be surprised if he started tomorrow.

"After a bit of fun....."

I watched Sunday Supplement this morning and I can assure you the 'experts' say there is no fun at City.

Good to hear Balotelli is training. Fancy him to get 2 from the bench tomorrow!

Are these 'teams' potential line-ups, or just groups of players to work with together for a particular exercise?

Yaya was out doing full training and was definitely in "the team" for tomorrow as part of a 4 man midfield.

I don't think we should call Milner Milly, he should by a Jimmy, or a Milner

True, might be to daring for Mancini.

I expect to see Barry, De Jong, Yaya and Vieira then.
