Bayern - Wolfsburg

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Bayern - Wolfsburg

Postby Niall Quinns Discopants » Fri Aug 20, 2010 6:49 pm

I don't know if anyone else is watching but tasty affair on Eurosport 2 right now. Schteve's shouting orders in perfect German, Dzeko trying to take the piss out of Lahm and brilliant brilliant goal by Thomas Muller.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Bayern's back four play sooo far up the pitch when they're in Wolfsburg's half.

Yes, i am enjoying it too. Nice goal by mueller, seems to be starting where he left off. All these foreign players and you need a multilingual talent like steve mcclaren to sort it out. Crickey he can even trade jokes with van gaal! I hope wolsburg equalise.

Edit: can't wait for the after match interview in german!

easy though when they have left Grafite on the bench for some peculiar reason. they don't need to worry about his deep runs and just have three men marking Dzeko. But I'm sure managerial genius on their bench will change that soon.

if you gave Van Bommel the choice of just having the ball given to him or kicking someone first he'd choose kicking someone.

I've always liked him though. You don't get them much more no nonsense than him.

Stupid more like, pointless and unnecessary yellow card, mainly because he's too slow.

He gets away with so much over a season though. He's very effective at what he does. I'm amazed Ferguson has never signed him. He'd get all his first bad fouls in for free if he played for them.

Yes it seems that way sometimes. Let's hope the refs in the Bundesliga catch him more often this season.

I must say, quite a good game though with tempo and many internationals on show.

They show the bench reaction from McClaren to Dzekos goal. A classic , he gets up throws his bottle of water to the ground, claps his hands together, smiles and says in perfect deutsch( lip reading) " fucking come on" ! Brill !!!

The press are talking about ade to real madrid

Dzeko would be the perfect replacement.

Wolfsburg are trying for three points

Ribery is relentless. He just keeps trying & trying to cause problems & get the ball in the right areas & finally he did.
