Young Boys vs Tottenham [merged]

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Some one earlier commented about the skid marks and burns on plastic pitches.

There are four different types of artificial pitches being installed around Switzerland these days. Each has different properties.

However, this particular pitch has small plastic pellets on it too, this helps sliding and slide tackles. coupled with the fact that the pitch will always be watered before the game and probably now at half time.

Camera angles from foot level will show these pellets being sprayed up, like mud , i suppose.

The artificial pitch is perfect for players with great technique and skill, and very good for the player with the speed over five yards. As YB apparently make the Spurs defence look very lethargic. Actually , Spurs are just crap tonight so far, nothing to do with the pitch.

The main benefit though is all round usage ( in my village we had snow covered ground from before Christmas until March !).

In Zürich , where FCZ train the City council have just invested 35 million franc sin one site ( the pitch cost itself is about 1.5 million) on these types of pitches.

But ! very low maintenance !

I have played on all the four types of pitch this (last) season and the Bern pitch really is top quality.

By the way , I watched Bruce Springsteen play on this pitch last year too and believe me , I think the E street band have more
idea and give better slide than Spurs tonight.

And what the fuck has that got to do with 'Arry getting (hopefully) done by 11 Young Boys???

Absolutely nothing.

However, it is a very big advantage for YB.

Next week they'll get turned over big at WHL.

I think the pitch played a part in the defensive errors leading to two of the goals - Spurs look like they're in treacle when they try and turn on it at times.

And YB have got the better twin in their team ! In fact ,the other Degan has just gone out on loan to Stuttgart, where he's joined up with his previous boss from Basel ( ex spurs manager Christian Gross )

agree, YB are not really as good as Spurs have made them out to be . Perhaps 'arry is working on trying to get a sell out and
full tv coverage ?.

YB were shocking at the weekend and I can only guess they put bromide in the spurs tea .

i think the away goal is gonna save them and there'll get a convincing win next week. Won't be too dissapointed about it either because there squad is not gonna cope with the champs league and trying to get 4th again.

Well it looks like Spurs have developed a touch of the old Rag-ish luck - absolutely unbelievable how they've got away with this but there's no doubt they'll be in the group stages now. Jammy bastards!
