Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Well, I've seen him and he is top top talent.
In fact, fuck it, I put my money where my mouth is. Anyone dare to give me odds that he'll who ballon D'or in next six years? Decent odds and I'm good for hundred.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

i'd say you could probably get online odds of something like 100-1 or 200-1 couldn't you?
i think you are probably wrong, but im not a betting man. Unfortunately for you.
i would be willing to bet you straight up a 20 spot that he wont win it in the next 6 years tho. You up for that, sailor?
cheers

come on. This would be easy hundred quids even at 1000/1 for next Diouf.

i agree, hes real deal and still only young, i think madrid is bad move for him though he needs to play to develop his talent not sure if he will get as much time there.
Kaka has to be on his way out, will end up back in brazil, we dodged a bullet there..

I was thinking along the same lines. I don't claim to be an expert on other leagues (I don't play Football Manager games) but I had never heard of him before the World Cup and wondered if it was just a flash in the pan.
Its got Diouf written all over it.
He bossed the German under 21's side when I saw their tournament a couple of seasons ago - completely ran the show.

Thank good this saga is coming to an end. Took the headlines here for the last week.
Werder Bremen told Real to come to an decision today to hold the CL qualifier tomorrow vs. genua free of speculations.
15 Mio.€ is said here by the press for a 5-6 yrs contract.....
On the one hand we got much money for him, on the other he´s a player who could make the difference.
But he´s not a ready made player yet, had one very good, one decent and two crap games a month.
I think when Diego and Micoud quit Bremen it was a harder situation.
Time will show us if Real made a bargain or a second Van der Vaart.....

so what. We are forking out 26 million for milner. Ozil has talent to be next Zidane. Milner has talent to be next David Platt if everything goes well for him.
That's how much we are overpaying for him and that's how much of a bargain Ozil is.
And I'm not going because of the World Cup. I saw this feller numerous of times last season and he IS the real deal. I'm prepared to go on record with that prediction.
Could be wrong, but I think Ozil only had 12 months left on his contract and Milner had 3-4 years left on his.
Not saying that Ozil still won't be a bargain, but that would certainly account for a fair bit of the difference between the two fees.

Were not looking for an Ozil,we were looking for a different kind of midfielder Milner has the attributes we are looking for.

You said a similar thing about Benzema and unless he turns it round this year he is turning into a bit of a disappointment.
I think what Real payed for Ozil is about right.
And I think you are wrong about Milner more chance of him being the next Zidane than Ozil.

I'd rather consider him the next Schneider ;-) even though with Mourinho at Real he could possibly thrive there instead fo resurrecting his career in a more friendly environment (and possibly getting the Balon d'Or in doing that)

Didn't NQDP once say on here that after seeing anthony le tallec in a youth tournament he was convinced he'd be one of the worlds best players?
Can we really trust your opinion? ;)

I remember it getting a pretty shit reception on here when we were linked with him a while back. How times change.
I know it's daft & I've mentioned it before to lukewarm response but I just wonder, now that Ireland's gone & especially now Ozil has moved to Real, is it impossible that City will break their 'youth only' policy for big money signings & take a gamble on Kaka?
The fact that he needs an op etc gives Real a chance to cut their losses without losing face, the Sheikh wants an 'A' list player in the squad & we're just about the only club in the world who could sign him as a gamble & not even blink if he never kicked a ball.

I have to say that I definitely got that one wrong. But it was in U19's level. This boy is already real deal.
I have to say that I'm still scratching my head how Le Tallec didn't make it. I'm sure Houllier first and then Le Tallec had loads to do with it. Then again, when was the last time Liverpool had decent young player come from their Academy? Even Warnock turned out decent AFTER he had left Liverpool.

I don't on line bet. And they don't offer odds for something like that here in betting shops. Besides, it's much more fun to bet against someone else. You know me, I'd enjoy more rubbing it to faces of people than the 100k I'd gain from the actual bet.
