Done deal according to The Guardian on Twitter.
I'm very disappointed.

Shouldn't this be in the Transfer Rumours Thread if it's just a rumour on Twitter??

Hope it is.
I think he'll be a great signing. In fact, if he remains free of injury, I reckon he'll run carlos close for our player of the season.

whilst im not happy with the way we have (apparently) treated ireland (to me it just seems he has been thrown out with the rest of the garbage). Im certainly coming around to the idea of the milner signing. he is exactly what we needed on saturday. we were lacking the seemingly limitless industry that a player like him would bring.
i just wish we would involve ireland in our squad.

Disappointed that Stevie's time at Eastlands is over. He has bloody huge talent but, frankly, if all we were looking likely to get this season was a recreation of last season's form then he would have been a waste of a spot in the 25.
Very very frustrating that his form just totally went to shit last season and that he seemed incapable of re-discovering it here at City.
Milner is a solid signing.....I have a very open mind.
On balance I'm ambivalent as to the incoming and outgoing. We are neither stronger nor weaker IMO in individual player terms. We could, however (with the inclusion of James Milner) end up with a whole that is greater than the sum of the parts. Here's hoping

It's confirmed by the Guardian, Oliver Kay, FourFourTwo amongst others.
Both are to have medicals this afternoon and there shouldn't be any complications with either.

Milner's a good player and is another one that strengthens the squad, I just wish it wasn't with Stevie as a makeweight. Really do wish him all the best

I can live with that.
This talk of £30m for him made me not want him. I'm happy enough with this deal.

Says it all very well - shame for Stevie - but we are a team now where players have to take their chances - he was unable to step up last season - big shame

My reading of what is happening is Milner is heading for medical at City but assumptions are being made Ireland is part of the deal. Not saying it isn't the case, just that only the milner piece seems to be confirmed.

If that is accurate - well done to Marwood or whoever was the negotiator - good deal in the circumstances

Apparently the deal rates Ireland at around 10 million so it's thought to be around 26 mil
