To be fair to him there, he shouldn't have even been playing. Cappello pinned his hopes on Gazza and didn't give him the opportunity to get match fit, time was always against him.
For me, he looked a lot better yesterday and back to his old self. He may not be the fastest of players, but usually he reads the game well and his all-round play is of a very good standard. I can see him playing against the lower teams and Nige in against the Top 4 - 6, with a rotation policy between them 2, Yaya and Milner (if he comes) for all the cup games.
Still, you can't beat is attitude can you!
