If a player is concentrating on worrying if he is not in the first 11, his mind is not on football for me. And the team is 25 players not 11, but then again if your getting paid that much you wouldnt want to spit your dummy out.

I can see Milner being an automatic choice and Barry fighting it out with Nigel, dependant on games.

Mancini knows, like everybody else, that Barry doesn't have the mobility for the top level, which is shame because he can be a very classy player.

I still cringe thinking of how he got done for pace vs. Germany.

To be fair to him there, he shouldn't have even been playing. Cappello pinned his hopes on Gazza and didn't give him the opportunity to get match fit, time was always against him.

For me, he looked a lot better yesterday and back to his old self. He may not be the fastest of players, but usually he reads the game well and his all-round play is of a very good standard. I can see him playing against the lower teams and Nige in against the Top 4 - 6, with a rotation policy between them 2, Yaya and Milner (if he comes) for all the cup games.

Still, you can't beat is attitude can you!
