controversial regarding Simone. She did lot of jazz pieces for sure but also lot of soul songs.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Started off with Jazz did some soul, known for crossing over into numerous styles, Never heard any soul on Verve. Unless you mention Ashcroft and Co, by title only.

I agree , many of these singers/performers crossed the barriers throughout their careers. Lewis for example has produced peices with Jazz , Blues an Soul orientations James Brown, the Master of Soul or Funk ?

One thing's for sure , they've given us some great music, however we label it.

So basically you preferred us when we were shit, yo-yoing around the leagues.

Personally I think we're due our time and we should thanks our lucky stars that Sheikh Mansour arrived when he did

Hey this thread originally was similar to mine entitled 'what has happened to my beloved club' but some muppets have hijacked it to spout about music...........I believe that it will all end in tears and that we will win FA this season and won't our rivals piss themselves laughing.

We are about to sign the best young English midfielders in years.

If progression means we are losing our soul, then fuck it, i dont care. I want us to be the best we can!

Fuck me that doesn't say much for English midfielders then. I'd rather have the best Irish midfielder for years.

Ditto.

For fucks sake why cant these 'soul' people just fuck off to some other club. How many more times have we got to read this tripe. It's not the first time in our history that City have done big, 'out of order' spending. But this IS the first time we could really afford it.

Criticise criticise criticise. Have these people ever heard of Rodney Marsh, Dennis Tueart, Dave Watson, Trevor Francis and, wait for it................................................Steve Daly FFS? Not to mention the purchases of Lee, Bell, Summerbee etc.

Fucking ridiculous - go and support a yo yo team of losers like we have for the last 30 years.

I didn't realise that part of our "soul" was having fans who (rightly) moaned about how shit things were at City when we were actually terrible and who would then continue to bleat about how shit things were when they are actually pretty amazing.

That is a part of our "soul" that can gladly fuck off elsewhere IMO
