Official Premier League Games (14/08/10 - 16/08/10)

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

It was a stroll in the park for Chelsea. Whenever they turned up the heat, they scored. Says something when you can bring the likes of Drogba and Lampard off with 15 minutes still to play. Rightly, they deserve their favourite tag.

They did play well but West Brom gave them the freedom of the park, this is the lack of intensity that plagued them under Mowbray last time. Their defending on set pieces was horrendous and for the goals from open play they just stood and watched Chelsea ping the ball around them.

They won't have an easier game this season, we can only hope West Brom are that lacklustre when we play them.

actually, I was watching the game tonight and yes they were great but I started thinking about depth of their squad and they are actually really thin on certain departments. Now that Carvalho left, they have no decent centerback cover. Also that central midfield has no squad depth. If you think that they are supposed to be competing on four fronts, I'd say they might not survive when injuries hit them.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I saw Nedum got 90 minutes at right back today, anyone get a chance to catch that game?

they're fucking clueless though, running head down into three scum defenders. some appalling first touches as well. they badly need to give carroll some support.

Haven't played that bad? They could've been 1 up from that Andy Carroll free header, then allowed United to walk through their defence. Yep, they've had a touch of the ball but even though United look poor, Newcastle are making them look like the Harlem Globetrotters!

If Rooney was half a player, they'd be 5 up by now!

Add Berbatov to that ;-)
