I'm Hoping The Ireland To Villa Deal Falls Through Now

Without a proper manager at Villa I reckon, given the choice of Ireland plus money or just more money, Learner will go for the more money option.

He can then use this money to tempt a new manager into the vacant post at Villa. I'm sure the new man would rather have the money to buy his own players rather than be given a player wanted by his predecessor.

Let's hope so. Ireland is better player than Milner so that would've been stupid deal anyway.

Agree with you KK, the Milner deal I can take or leave but I really don't want to lose Stevie. If his face doesn't fit this season then loan him out for 6 months or the whole season but let's not be left watching his undoubted ability resurface elsewhere

he needs to play though. he's an academy lad and been at the club for over ten years so i would not like to see the mad little fucker's career stagnate on our bench. same goes with nedum.

He can leave for me. I like the lad and he was really good the season before last but that's it so I'm not sure why everyone is certain he will hit that form again.

Couldn't agree more so let him ( and Ned) get their games on loan. It's a win win, play well we get them back at the end of the loan, don't show enough and then we get rid, but not yet

An ITK guy on the Villa forums claims O'Neill was going to sell us Milner for 15 million, Ireland, Onouha, and Michael Johnson.

Lerner just wanted 30 million though, no players used as makeweights.

I think people are missing the point here. If Bobby has decided that he doesn't make the 25 then he's not going to change his mind just because O'Niell has left Villa. Planning this 25 man squad is an absolutely key task for Bobby and I don't think he'll let a managerial departure at another club get in the way of his plans. If Ireland doesn't go to Villa then he'll go elsewhere.

I'm fine with selling him, just not to a top 8 side.

Your are kidding aren't you? Milner is miles better amd way more consistent. Ireland has had one good season in five and the rest of the time he has been shit.

Really??? One good season from Ireland in god knows how many makes him better than Milner? Two very different players in my book, but one of them is far more consistent than the other, with that player being Milner.

aye. stevie probably possesses more natural ability, but milner is a far more complete and effective player.

How so?

The boy was only 2 when Stevie had his only good season, and he has been utter wank for three quarters of your son's life. With judgement like that, your lad will be a munich by age 5 - keep an eye on him

he scored on his 1st game at coms (my lads not irelands) i think we got beat off fulham and he very easily recognisable to a 2,3 or 4 year due to his bald shiny head. wank or not , hes his favourite player.
and i guarantee he wont be a munich by the time hes 5 or any other age

I think the fundamental point here is that can we, in this incredibly important season, give Stevie the time and space to prove he can be that player he was?

This - agree totally with Blue2 on this one.
