Well, that sucked the big one.
Now you guys know what we have to live with when we watch football over here.
Joe Hart have plastic surgery at half time or something?
Jesus.

Decent effort from the youth and reserves.

Not bothered by the result as tbh it's not a fair reflection on our true abilty given the players on show.

Roll on the next game and hopefully a more senior line up.

Some on the comments on here are fantastic. Pre-season games are taken far too seriously by alot of people nowadays. Is that because they are more accesible on the TV?

Glorified, fitness improving training games. I've enjoyed the last two, good to see us play again without worrying about the outcome or performance.

Sorry, but the "backbone" of the team was Mee/Boyata, Tutte/Kay, Jo/Adebayor. Ok, so SSN wont admit that this was a youthful side (thats just their Chelsea terminology) but only Ade has a chance of starting against Spuds. Ned knows he's going, and Bridge has just seen us spend millions on his replacement. Anyone who starts getting freaked out about friendlies - whether good or bad - is losing the fucking plot. Christ, Im sure I read some bollocks on here the other night about it being the worst performance they'd ever seen which may have been tinged with irony but to be honest at 4am that would have gone over my head.

Chill.

Anyone know the TV situation for the Club America friendly on Wednesday? Particularly in the U.S?

Better than Friday overall.

The 2 in the middle of the park were ok, but have a long way to go. Kay looked the better of the 2.

Jo produced a lovely touch for the goal but his overall play just isnt of the desired standard.

Nedum always looks like a clumsy oaf at right back. Why he isnt given a whirl at center back where he excelled in the second half of Hughes first season here beggers belief.

Bridge looked extremely slow and cost us the first goal. Kolorov has nothing to worry about, he'll walk into the team.

Mee is too slow

Adebayor stopped playing after an hour but showed good quality in that hour.

On the positive side, Ireland had a good 45 minutes, aways looking to influence the game, some nice touches and worked hard.

Boyata did well up against Henry and their big striker.

Good performance from Nimley despite miss. Probably wont see much action this season but looks bright for the future.

Johnson was excellent when he came on, our best player for me.

Let's put this in perspective: It was a FRIENDLY of reserves vs a very fit veteran MLS team....
and a good one I might add--

I'm more concerned about who's going to make the chop before the Transfer Deadline closes.

Tea anyone.

Imo Mancini is playing 1 or 2 first team regulars to give them a run out to gain match fitness whilst giving the rest a chance to fight for a place in the 25 man squad. Some are dropping themselves. In spite of making some great runs in the 1st game, Ireland's performances as a creative player have been fucking dire, getting through about two passes out of about 30 opportunities. Richards looks like a donkey, Ned looks like a donkey, Bridge looks 2 yards slower, as does Lescott & Vieirra looks about 45. I find it hard to believe one or two won't miss the cut unless they improve very quickly.

If Ireland is going to play a mainly attacking role, he's got no chance imo. He's simply not good enough. He needs to be a hard working cog in the machine making well timed forward breaks, not some bogus Fabregas.

yeah but we are led to belive we are there to break america ?

So we tune in thinking we are going to really put performances in to win new fans in usa...

The usa commentators was wondering why we wasnt pressuring the ball.

This is what i thought,if we wanted run outs and to get fit we could have toured the NW against Bury,Rochdale,Macc et al.

Football fans in the US wont be turned on by that.

Breaking America??

Go to the Man City Fan Satellite Map? If the amount of hits increase after we play there,
Portland.... DC.... New York.....

That's how you 'break America!'

It's about getting your name on the Billboard, your kits being sold on Fox Soccer Network and
to make sure whenever the NY Times puts Manchester in bold print, the next word is City!!

Harmless game tonight.Practically played the majority of the players coming through from the academy.Better work out than the sporting game at least we got a few passes together tonight.Would have expected a better result against a poor side all the same. Some decent run outs tonight Boyata did well and Jo looked decent tonight his goal was very well taken.Good workout for Ade aswell and Johnson gave a nice cameo for the last 25 mins.
I was impressed with Nimley he looks a lively player he did really well bar the miss.
Bridge got tore up a few times for pace, good to know Kolarov is done and dusted.

Ok i will take your word for it but if i was american soccer fan who supports real madrid and hear about a new team that will rival the biggest clubs in the world, i want to see how great they play football.

So if i watched city and tottenham in new york id be supporting new york red bulls or sporting lisbon.

Right, let see if I can work this out.

Its a pre season friendly, so the score doesn't matter.
Its a run out for the fringe players.
Its a harmless agme.
It was a friendly of reserves.
Pre season games are taken far too seriously.

etc. etc.

So tell me, whats the fuckin point of a pre season tour in fuckin America?

Scum lost 2-1 tonight to 10 man Kansas City Wizards, and with a more experienced team than we put out there today.
