RAG: Liverpool's run came to an end, so it is possible that our run will come to an end in the near future. We can't compete (financially) with the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea and Man City, so we will need to focus on bringing through top quality youngsters. Fergie realises this and has already implemented a new youth policy. You only have to look at the intake of Academy scholars over the last two seasons to see this. Even our transfer policy suggests this i.e. buying young players for cheap and then developing them e.g Diouf, Smalling, Obertan, etc.

We have some very talented youngsters in our ranks, in fact ridiculously talented. If they listen to the coaches, stay focused and train hard, well then with a bit of luck they will hopefully make the grade here. These youngsters will save us having to spend and could maintain our dominance for at least another decade.

Also, Man City have an impressive squad but they won't be able to keep everyone happy. They won't be winning anything big unless they sort out their mediocre defence. They are more of a threat to Liverpool than us.

They are getting increasingly psychotic. I read their TEAMTALK page earlier and many of them are now convincing themselves that the new youngsters will be world beaters, so they dont have to worry about not affording any signings.

transpose that a few years back...."We can't compete with the rags in the transfer market. We need to bring our own kids through. The kids will secure our future. Wait until White, Hinchcliffe, Redmond, Lake, Bbrightwell and Simpson get a bit more experience.

Yeah, as good as it was supposed to be, it never really happened did it.

Sorry rags....your suffering will go on.

The thing is, youngsters they have produced in recent years who have looked genuinely talented, namely Giuseppe Rossi and Gerrard Pique, have fooked off the first chance once they've made their break through.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Didn't similar happen to us...White, Redmond, Hinchcliffe, Simpson etc all disappeared to other clubs.
For us, it was our only way out of the shit and ultimately it didn't work.
I don't expect it to work for them either.

Yeah, but they are supposedly MEGA club so it shouldn't happen to them. Apparently.

I was actually winding a rag mate of mine while back about the same thing. He was going on and on and fucking on about Gabriel Obertan and some other players they supposedly have coming through and who all are world class. Pointed out that the good ones will be leaving them as soon as possible. He really went apeshit and started going on about how big and mighty they are. Also, had to remind him that he once told me that John Curtis and Jonathan Greening were going to be the backbone of all conquering united side. HAHA

Then again, he pointed out that he was still waiting for Mark Kennedy to get at least 8 goals and 10 assists in a season and Kinkladze to win Ballon D'or. Bastard.
