Spain vs. Germany ***unofficial***

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Spain vs. Germany ***unofficial***

Less than an hour to go. While waiting, check this video out. It's thoughts of the Spanish team on winning the Euros two years ago (English subtitles). It's well worth watching (sort of makes me realize that the feelings I had when winning footy tournaments as a small kid probably come quite close to the real thing):

Torres on the bench. He's been far from reaching his true capacity this tournament, but I''m still a bit surprised. he wasn't very good until Spain played the Germans in the Euros either.

Pedro from Barca gets to play instead (Villa moves up to play as the lone striker). Too bad, would've loved to see Silva get a shot.

Mertesacker?

they say he's 6" 6 but he's clearly at least 8 ft.

Is it just me, or isn't Joachim Loew the spitting image of agent Cooper?

Bby the way. I think Lahm killed Laura Palmer.

Spain are all over the Mannschaft. Puyol should've scored there.

Just watched Boeteng chuck a throw in from 30 yards out, right into the penalty area. Should be an extra weapon in our armoury next season:o)

No, No, No!!! We're always slagging Stoke for playing that game, how can we do it ourselves???

I've adopted the mentality of my adopted country. I want revenge for 1974. I.E. I want "us" to play the Germans in the final.

Spain are too slow going forward they cannot break thanks to this and thus gives the Germans time to catch onto what they are doing and cut them out. Plus Iniesta has had a shit half...

It's like watching Barca or Arsenal, trying to pass the ball into the goal.
They should try more long distance shots to open up for the cut through pass. They should also stop with high crosses, and ony play the ball in to the penalty area along the ground. The Germans are at least two heads higher.

Really enjoyed that half. Really impressed with the German defence and the way Spain are denying the German midfield time and space.

As long as he doesn't have a towelboy and take 90 fucking seconds to take a throwin, I don't mind him chucking it into the area.

Good point, but we'll be that good they'll be saying 'What, as good as City', so we shouldn't need it ;-)
