The Nike WC ads

I love it how all the players they featured in those ads BOMBED. The only one that is still going is Van Persie and his only involvement in the ads is throwing away the paper after reading how good Wooney is. Well worth throwing away. haha

And even van Persie has been shite mostly despite Holland's success!

Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Was thinking about that ad when I read about Fergie saying there was to much pressure on Rooney.

Did anyone force him to do that ad?

Wasn't Van Persie, it's the Spanish lads, Fabergras, Pique and Inesita.

You sure about that Fuey? Why would Adidas release those players for the ads?

I guess you're not counting the ad Nike released for Holland right before the semi final, because sneijder and van bronckhorst were featured prominently and they didn't exactly bomb vs. uruguay

Yep 3 of the sat there and they screw newpapers up and launch over their heads. Like you said Van Persie is Adidas so why would they let him star in a Nike add.

Edit, them 3 all wear Nike, take a look when they play later!

I know but they all don't wear Adidas boots. It's like saying City wear Umbro, only two of our players wear Umbro boots, Neddy and Hart.

And seeing their little addition to these ads, would Umbro allow Robinho to participate?

Too "plastic" for my liking. Thing is, I have achilles tendons that stick out bit more than in normal foot so I need to have boots that are proper leather. And even with Copa Mundials I always stick them to bucket of warm water with the boots on my feet for about an hour before even thinking about using them. When I was still properly playing, I always had couple of "training pairs" that were still moulding and used them on training and then had pair that used on games that were already moulded.

Bingo isn't far off though, I've held Puma Kings on my hands few times and they felt like proper boots. If I didn't use Copa Mundials, I'd probably try those.

Edit. When I was about fourteen, my dad bought me pair of Le Coq Sportif's (very very exotic back then......everyone had either Adidas, Pumas or Patrick's......they hadn't even heard about game called football in Nike head quarters back then) and they were PERFECT. Unfortunately I could never find another pair again.

19 posts, I'd say it's doing ok.

So it's definitely the spanish players then? Not the dutch. Nike sponsor the dutch team and didn't bother to make an ad with any of their players?
