Dickson Etuhu

How do we feel about this player?

I was quite excited about him when he was breaking through for us and couldnt understand it when he chose to move to Preston.
Now since Preston hes been at Norwich, Sunderland and Fulham, only staying at each club for around a year.. seems hes trying to work his way up the league and probably collect signing on fees along the way. Mercenary if there ever was one IMO.

Doesn't have the quality really and am surprised he broke back into the premiership but it says a lot about our academy.

He annoyed me when he claimed he joined Preston because he wanted to play for a big club.

I'm over it now though.

I seem to remember that he said he'd join Preston because he'd have much better chance to play Premier League football with them. Whatever.

Besides

Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I met Etuhu on the train a good few years back, just after he joined Preston. By the tone of his voice, it sounded like he was sad to leave City.

Seemed like a top guy, he said he enjoyed talking to us and brought us all beers..

Etuhu has carved a good career for himself. Established premier league player, played european football, played at the world cup. I doubt he would have done much better had he stayed with us.

In hindsight the move to Preston probably was a good move, even though we lost a prospect at the same time.

Hes probably our biggest success story from the academy who doesnt currently play for us. Barton may have an England cap, but his career is in the toilet.

He left City because Keegan - rightly - wouldn't give him the pay rise he wanted as soon as he made a first team appearance. He thought he'd really arrived and went off sulking to get an extra wad at Preston.

Keegan said he was 'badly advised'.

And he's crap.
