Venue: Cape Town
Date: Saturday, 3 July 2010
Kick-off: 15:00 BST[/center]

TEAM NEWS

Argentina star Lionel Messi is expected to play against Germany despite missing training on Thursday with a cold.

Walter Samuel has recovered from a thigh problem but is not expected to displace Nicolas Burdisso or Martin Demichelis at centre-back.

Germany's counter-attacking prowess could persuade coach Diego Maradona to replace winger Angel Di Maria with the more defensive-minded Jonas Gutierrez.

Maradona must also choose between Maxi Rodriguez and veteran Juan Veron.

Germany will assess Lukas Podolski, who is nursing a muscular problem.

Playmaker Mesut Ozil is expected to start despite skipping training on Thursday due to fatigue.

Striker Cacau is still suffering from a strained abdominal muscle, and is unlikely to be involved.

One booking from suspension: Bolatti, Heinze, Mascherano (Argentina); Friedrich, Khedira, Lahm, Ozil, Muller, Schweinsteiger (Germany).

What does that even mean? Can you even remember why you have this obsessive grudge?

How about debating the point for a change? Have you even watched the game? Are you going to defend his performance?

He's playing as a third central defender and doing ok on his weaker foot.

I assume that comment is tongue in cheek or you're just trying to be controversial/funny. He's playing out of position against probably the most potent strikeforce in world football and I can't think of a decent chance they've made as yet. Hardly bobbins

He's playing as a third central defender and doing ok on his weaker foot.

Stating his position doesn't excuse him. He's given the ball away numerous times, once to Di Maria could've been really costly. He could have just knocked it out.

Likewise, Di Maria & Messi have skipped past him with ease.

He just closed Messi out at the start of the second half. I guess I can now claim he's had a brilliant game on that one piece of evidence.

Boateng chasing down Higuain - he wont get credit for it though since he's just doing his job.

I don't know what some of you people are talking about. I think Boateng has been very good.
