Gotta love this
"it is a big club and I think it is a dream for every player." How about another fucking kick in the nuts to Liverpool fans? I wouldn't mind though he ain't half the player J.Cole was.. I am deluded to why they let him go for free and paid money to sign him..

He is Jewish.

I like Benayoun. Not enough to play for City - but he was one of Alan Pardew's very astute signings for West Ham and he's had a solid Career.

Honestly though why are chelsea signing a player that will make them weaker?? Most stupid transfer in history letting Joe Cole go on free, then paying money for Benayouns transfer. It just proves they have more money than sense. So when you think we do stupid transfers look at this and think at least we are not as bad as Chelsea.

Wage bill I assume. Cole wanted to be in the £110k+ week bracket and Chelsea are no longer prepared to go down that route. A one off payment in this financial year is presumably preferable to having players on long contracts on hefty wages especially players that the manager doesn't seem to fancy much. Only a guess though.

In the long run though its probably not gonna save them anything and they are getting a lesser (and OLDER!) player. Chelsea must have thought hang on people consider us an ageing team but Joe is only 28 we can't have none of that we need to up our average age on the pitch.

No argument that football wise its a backward step. To be honest even though I have punted a reason for swapping Cole for Benayoun I do struggle to see much sense in the decision.

purely speculating here, but mourinho wasn't keen on joe cole, ancelotti isn't too keen on joe cole, and capello doesn't seem to keen on him. its very possible that joe cole is difficult to work with. he doesn't seem the type that causes trouble, but it can't be a coincidence. benayoun is a cracking little player, but he always tries to take on an extra man which often proves the deterioration of a goal attack. liverpool really are falling behind. they're in real danger of finishing below everton this year.

While I think Joe Cole is technically most talented current England player, it has crossed my mind that there has got to be some serious flaw in him why managers don't play him. Otherwise it would make no sense. But that's three arguably world class managers who have all come to same conclusion.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
