It's always easy to say for people who have no fucking clue what it's like. Surely he can feel pride in regards to his home nation AND the nation he grew the fuck up in? The extend of the bond is an individual thing anyway. Maybe it changed in the last 15 fuck years? And that's not taking into account the politics of professional football at all.
