CM Mehmut Ozil
RM Landon Donovan
CF David Villa
CF Higuain

Honourable mentions
Lahm
Ricardo Montolivio(played very well for a poor Italian side)
Xavi
Vittek
Van der Wiel(only for Maicon he would be in)
Veron(rolling back the years with some strong performances)
Bastos
Elano
Forlan

No David Villa? Also Montolivio was extremely poor imo, contributed to their downfall massively. Agree with Ozil, Honda, Messi, Maicon, Forlan, Messi...

Sorry for just criticising your team and not giving my own, it's just what sprung to mind.

Kevin Prince Boateng has caught my eye with some strong performances. Ozil has been good. Hondas free kicks. Chile as a team have been brilliant. Sneijder has been strong too.
Attack the argument of the person, not the person of the argument- except Carl.

Where's Rooney in your list? Isn't he the best striker in the world?

"World Class" and "White Pele" lol! Except when it comes to Champs League finals and world cup final tournaments when he's in with the big boys and promptly disappears. More red cards than goals in world cup final tournaments.

3 right backs, but I'm a bit too tired to think of positions.

Boateng has been briliant. Not too effective given the ammo he is lining up is invariably wasted, but in the team he is in has made it all happen - been very impressed

I've been really impressed by Beausejour, playing wide left for Chile. He has the pace and trickery a good winger should do but also looks really strong physically and doesn't get pushed off the ball easily.

Ozil has impressed everyone I think, what a goal the other night. Have seen two Japan games and they're brilliant to watch, have been much better passers of the ball than Brazil so far. Think they'll scrape past Paraguay, they'd have Spain/Portugal in the last eight so probably go out at that stage but that's not bad going.

Also in fairness, Lahm who I was never keen on has been excellent so far. Always had him down as a full back that couldn't defend but he's looked sharp at both ends. Hopefully he'll have a nightmare on Sunday though!

Spot on there mate. He plays in the Mexican league but I think he would be wonderful at a mid table/pushing for Europa League side.

Most of the players who have caught my eye have been covered.

Others who hae imprssed me are the Soth Afrian lad, Tshabalala and Gervinho of the Ivory Coast.

Like the Slovenian keeper also.

Hardly original and already been mentioned but Carvalho has been outstanding.

brilliant player, no question about it. Has really really impressed me as well. Fullback who can actually defend. I understand that is strange concept in 'modern' game.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

One player who has looked shit hot, but probably not had enough game time to warrant a place in team of the world cup, is Elia for Holland.
That guy is going to be a star. Still a bit "raw" but a great talent and the ball sticks to his feet.

Wish England had someone like that they could of taken a gamble with. Oh wait....

My thoughts exactly, not played much but the cameo i saw was very impressive.Have seen him play only a few times previously but hes always stood out from the rest, has the ability to become a top player.
In fairness to Holland they always seem to have a new wave of talented young players coming through.
