Bloody hell John, after just posting in the world cup thread, totally agreeing with your comments about Shrek, 60 seconds later I find myself totally disagreeing wiyh you on this.
It's part of our history, and should be celebrated. As to the method and cost, that's what was voted for by the people who live there.

I know, sorry haha.

I fully agree that there should be a legacy, but £120k on a patch of bloody grass with a few lights and WIFI which will doubtless be dug up and robbed within a week, along with the rest of the vandalism from the people round there who have no pride in life, let alone art - somebody is having a laugh arent they?

120k is not that much money on council level though.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Its being privately funded according to the article, so its not the source of the money I am concerned about, it is how the hell a grass circle with a few lights could cost £120k in the first place.

I know a few builders who are out of work who would build it for a few grand

£120k does seem totally over the top, you'd have thought the b of the bungle would have taught them a lesson. Are they saying that there will be a stream of comments taken by wifi from a website? Seems like a nice idea how sustainable is that?

Except the price the idea is golden and shows our heritage. We are constantly ribbed by rags about having no history and this is proof that's bullshit and this will show them we care about our history even if we don't have as much silverware as we are proud of what we had.

Nice idea and there should be something there to mark the former home of Gods own club and the best team in the land however a patch of grass isnt exactly something thats goinna stand the test of time and will end up looking tired and shitty in two years time.

The club isn't paying for it, the council isn't paying for it, the fans aren't being asked to pay for it. At least they are doing something! Some people just seem to whinge and complain about anything and everything without any thought or distinction. Feel sad for them.

Banksy? Vandalism yet artistic, too. I think the value of a House would go up with one of his paintings on the wall.
