You obviously have different criteria to the rest of the known world for judging fullbacks and their peformances Vive la difference.
VIVA EL CITIES

"The adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee ... has banned Mr Joseph S. Blatter ... for eight years and Mr Michel Platini ... for eight years from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) on a national and international level. The bans come into force immediately." - 21/12/2015

I'm with you all the way NQDP. He's great going forward but an average defender.

And we conceded a lot from attackers getting in behind the fullbacks on both sides Antii.

Indeed we did. My point was that I don't particularily fancy the idea of ultra attacking fullbacks who can't defend in Premier League. Ultra fast paced nature of the game means these players would get caught out all the time and we'd concede loads of goals.

But then again, I'm bit of a traditionalist. I think attacking fullbacks and defensive wingers are bullshit. Wingers are there to attack first and foremost and help defensive when they can. Fullbacks are there to defend first and foremost and help attack when they can. To make it simple, I can tolerate fullback who offers little going forward if he is a solid defender but I can NOT tolerate fullback who is good going forward but can't defend.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

If he was sooooo shit I don't think Bayern would have achieved what they did. I don't think he is world-class but he is A LOT better than what we've got at the moment. It looks like Mancini is planning on playing with 8 defensive midfielders so it might not be a bad idea to have some attacking full-backs actually.
