By begged you mean responded to direct questions from the media - I can't stand the guy either but it's pretty clear what happened.

Ah yeah, maybe that was a little unfair to JT. I was searching for the right word to use I suppose begged isn't it, but it did seem pretty clear that Terry felt Joe Cole should start.
And I don't have any problem at all with him expressing those feelings really.
