To be fair to the fairer sex, some of them try to keep up with us but it doesn't always work.
My wife's got interested in football in the last couple of years basically because she's got a husband and 2 kids who are football crazy and is forced to watch a lot whether she likes it or not.
Having finally got a grasp on EPL football and she can now name players and clubs, in comes the World Cup which completely confused her. Seeing City and other EPL players playing for different countries was a bit hard for her to fathom.
Typical question in the first few days : How come Tevez's playing for Argentina, shouldn't he play for England since he plays for City !!!
After 2 weeks of WC, she now undertands the concept of Club and Country.
My project for the new season is to educate her on the difference between EPL and Europa League as she will be seeing City playing some strange clubs from Europe.
Its a long and ongoing process but its worth it as long as I can see my City play on T.V. whenever I like without her complaining all the time.

Good luck ;o

I thought Messi was eligible to play for Spain but he picked Argentina instead.

I was watching a match at home the other night with Kath.
She called me an annoying bastard.
I nearly choked on my vuvuzela.
