Question

Postby Blue Toy » Sat Jun 12, 2010 9:51 pm

Can anyone think of a current French Midfielder (not necessarily an international but might be) whose Father also played?

It's not a pub quiz question, but I need to know the answer!

Gourcuff's dad was a player in the 70s and 80s- there might be others though?

to be fair, he'd be a dream signing for me. Would fill position of urgent need and is genuine world class talent.

I saw a man wearing a Beret with a string of garlic round his neck queueing at the ice cream van in Heaton Park.

played in drawn role. Nothing out of this world but then again the players around weren't exactly helping.

He didn't get the boot from Milan. They sent him on loan back to France as they had Kaka in his position and he needed to play regularily. Foolishly they put a fee they never thought Bordeaux would pay. Well they did. To my recollection Milan tried to get it revoked as well but couldn't.

He is top quality player and best I can see us getting no matter what. If the options were him or Milner then it's no brainer.

13-15M Euros if you believe Wikipedia. Not much. Fuck me. Milan, uhm, bottled it.

hang on, think about it a bit more. Why leave Milan for Bordeaux? Surely if the purpose of the loan was to gain experience, he would have wanted to go back to the Rossoneri to take his place in the first team after Kaka did one? He could have told Bordeaux this, whatever fee they were offering Milan. Homesickness? Maybe he's a bit of a Robinho.

I've hardly seen him play to be honest, but if he's got baggage I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.

Seen this guy play about 10 times this season and never once has he delieverd when the pressure was on, add to this i thought he looked tired and off the pace the other night, and that is actually his favoured postion, saying that he did take up one or two good positions without receiving the ball but all and all he leaves a game pass him by more then stevie, many french are not happy with him in the french line up and would prefer diaby in the more advanced role.

I wouldnt want either him or milner for £20m plus

fair enough.
I've seen him maybe six seven times over past two years (+Eurogoals every week) and he has really impressed me every time. But you've seen more of him than me. Then again, people see the game so differently. Maybe he shows some qualities I think are vital and you don't rate and vice versa?

I've seen him a few times over the past few years and was really looking forward to having a closer look at him during the world cup but he didn't half disappoint on friday night. Thought he had a really poor game
