World Cup: Prem Players Falling Apart

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

World Cup: Prem Players Falling Apart

Postby Beefymcfc » Fri Jun 04, 2010 1:03 pm

.....literally. SSN reporting that Rio Ferdinand has gone off for a scan on his knee after an innocuous training ground tackle and that one of the dropped players has been put on stand-by. Further to that, David James has knee problems which Fabio has put down to the flight.

WTF is going on, they can't even get to the World Cup without falling apart, how the hell are they going to play to the heighest standards needed to achieve anything in the tournament.

Also, Ivory Coast are now reporting that Drogba has fractured his arm/wrist after a nasty tackle by one of the Japan team.

I just wonder if out long tiresome season really does affect the players in these national tournament years?

That's the spirit son!

Anyway, just been announced that Drogba to miss the World Cup due to injury; did seem a very naughty challenge.

The lack of a winter break in our domestic football does our chances at international level no good at all.

I'm not suggeasting we should have one, I'm against it, but it's a fact.

It's been mentioned for a long while now with a fair few managers/clubs backing it, however it all comes down to money and the TV schedule over the Christmas period. Personally I'd be in favour of it as it is a very expensive time for most as well.

You've just got to look at the England Squad now, we already have problems with Barry, now we've got possible problems with Ferdinand and James (probably could've guessed this would happen though). Combine that with the problems Rooney and the 2 Cole's have had, we may end up with a very slim squad if we get out of the Group stages.

Rio reported to be on crutches leaving the hospital. I wonder if Lescott's in with a chance?

Seems Dawson will be called up if Rio is gonna miss out.

Reports are now saying Ferdinand out and Dawson being called up, on his wedding anniversary.

Will Ledley King be able to step up to the plate and make a few games?

Much prefer Dawson in there, thought he's been immense for Spurs this season.
