CITY BOLLOX
City set to launch 'new Rooney'
Image
Promising Manchester City youngster John Guidetti is set to be given his chance to join Roberto Mancini’s first-team squad next season.
Eighteen-year-old Guidetti is likely to be one of several youngsters included in Mancini’s squad for the three-week US tour in July.
Brommapojkarna asked City to extend his loan beyond the Swedish League’s break for the World Cup, but Mancini wants to see how the burly front man does alongside the first team.
The Swedish youth international striker has made a big impact on loan at his hometown club for the last three months, scoring three goals and claiming three assists in eight appearances for the mid-table club.
That came after an impressive season for the Blues’ under-18 team, netting 13 times in 19 games before marking his reserve team debut with a hat-trick against an experienced Burnley side.
Guidetti may yet go out on loan next season, but initially he will be one of eight players who make the move from the Academy set-up at Platt Lane to train with the senior pros at Carrington.
He was also named player of the tournament as the under-18s won the Al Ain International Championship in Abu Dhabi, beating Inter Milan’s youth set-up along the way.
Guidetti was signed as a 15-year-old by then City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson, and has since been tagged “the Swedish Wayne Rooney”, a label which is a little premature – City’s Academy staff have stressed that the Stockholm boy is a long way from being the finished article.
The other boys to make the leap to Carrington are Libyan midfielder Ahmad Benali, Norwegian schemer Omar Elabdellaoui, French defender Jeremy Helan, English defenders Reece Wabara, Tom Smith and Sean Tse, and Swiss under-17 skipper Freddie Veseli

No AC Milan Approach For Manchester City-Owned Striker Robinho But They Want Goias Defender Rafael Toloi - Agent
But the Rossoneri have laid eyes on Rafael Toloi.

Robinho’s representative has played down reports linking the Brazilian striker with a summer move to Serie A giants Milan.
Robinho is currently on loan at Santos from English side Manchester City, who will reportedly look to sell the 26-year-old during the close season.
Milan are said to have enquired after the former Real Madrid man, but the player’s agent, Juan Figer, insists he has not been approached by the Via Turati officials.
“The Rossoneri have never contacted me about Robinho, but they did it about a different player,” he told Calciomercato.it.
“I must confirm that they have indeed shown interest in Rafael Toloi, although they have yet to make a decisive move and we are just at the sounding out stage.
“But be careful, as the Goias defender is also a target for Palermo.”
The 19-year-old centre-back came through the ranks at Goias and has been capped 13 times for the Brazil Under-20 side

Cardiff in shock bid to bring Bellamy home
Cardiff City are making an astonishing move to bring Craig Bellamy 'home' - and the Manchester City ace may help the amazing bid.
Boss Dave Jones has been given the go-ahead from the Welsh club's new Malaysian owners to pull off the coup of the year. And Bellamy is willing to move to his favourite club, who are trying to find ways of making it happen.
Bellamy is on around £4million a year at City and valued at £7million by the mega-rich club. But Cardiff have two ways of getting round that and are working on it.
The fiery forward could ask to be paid a settlement by City in return for cancelling his contract and that would let him go to Cardiff on a sensible deal.
Or Cardiff could take Bellamy on loan for a year and ask City to pick up a chunk of his wages.Cardiff insiders reveal that the plan is advanced and claim Bellamy is 'up' for the idea that will stun football.
Bellamy watched Cardiff in the play-offs and would be happy to go back to his roots with his family.
The far-travelled star has clashed with Roberto Mancini and some City officials lately as his days at the club seem numbered.
But while Tottenham and Everton were lining up for a signing war it appears Bellamy's heart is set on Cardiff and the Championship.
Cardiff know that the move would make them promotion favourites after their Wembley heartache and also fill their new ground.
The new owners have cash for big projects but the real impetus with the Bellamy deal is that their target is willing to give up cash.
Bellamy is a multi-millionaire and can make this dream final move. Now City will have to find a way to make the numbers work.
One top Cardiff source said: "It may sound like a dream bout could be reality soon and it will take the roof off this place."

I was actually told that about Bellamy about two weeks ago when he started training with them (apparently just to keep fit?) But the bloke I heard it off was a bullshitting wanker so I assumed it was material worthy of BM?

So we pay his wages and he plays for someone else? Brilliant.

And in what way would that option attract us? We pay him to let him out of his contract! Some of these Journos haven't got two braincells to rub together.

Surely even with the attraction of playing for your home club you would still prefer one of the many apparent Champions League options to playing in the Championship

Quick question
why would we value bellamy, who has had a brilliant season and a half, at half the price we paid for him?

Mario Balotelli's Premier League suitors, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City, have been given a stern 'hands off' warning by the Inter Milan striker's agent.
Mario Balotelli's agent has jettisoned rumours linking the Inter striker with England
..Mino Raiola, who is the 19-year-old's representative, has backtracked over Balotelli's future - having earlier this year suggested the Italian could move on this summer.
Several English sides were linked with a summer move for the highly-rated forward, including City - managed by former Inter boss Roberto Mancini - and Chelsea - who have ex-AC Milan chief Carlo Ancelotti in charge.
But Raiola says the teenage striker, valued at around £10million, is to stay and fight for his place.
'Balotelli has been taken off the market,' Raiola told Sky Italia.
'(Inter president Massimo) Moratti told me and we are happy.
'I have not spoken to anyone but there would only be a maximum of four clubs that could afford Balotelli.
'He has three years left on his contract and he is not on the market.'
Balotelli's future had been the subject of intense speculation because of an ongoing rift between himself and head coach Jose Mourinho.
His decision to stay is rumoured to be linked with the Portuguese's upcoming departure to join Real Madrid - although Raiola denied rumours that if the new coach also fails to get on with the young player he could still leave.
'We have resolved our problems and we are not awaiting the name of the new coach,' Raiola continued.
'It would be ridiculous if Mario decided to stay or leave based on whether the new coach liked him.'

Midfielder Alberto Aquilani, linked with Juventus, has told Italian newspaper Leggo that he wants to stay at Liverpool to make up for his injury-plagued first season following a £20m move from Roma.

Prospective Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho says England midfielders Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard are the type of players he will look to bring to the Bernabeu.
Mourinho told Spanish sports daily AS: "I like players in the final part of their careers. Both [Gerrard and Lampard] are great players who always give everything."

Croatia defender Darijo Srna has set his sights on a move to Chelsea from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk.

Patrick Vieira joins ITV's World Cup line-up with rugby's Francois Pienaar
ITV have unveiled their full line-up of pundits for this summer's World Cup, which features current Manchester City player Patrick Vieira has joined ITV's World Cup line-up
..Bizarrely, ITV have also opted to include 1995 World Cup-winning South African rugby captain Francois Pienaar on their sofa for the football tournament - despite his specialist arena being a completely different sport.
Several other more well-known football analysts will also work for ITV for the duration of the World Cup, including ex-England manager Kevin Keegan and former Dutch international Edgar Davids.
Regular ITV pundit Marcel Desailly will ensure that, alongside Vieira, there is a substantial French presence within the team.
Presenting duties for the channel will fall to BBC ship-jumper Adrian Chiles while long-time ITV anchor Matt Smith will host some games and the regular highlights shows.
Comedian James Corden's name is also included. The Gavin and Stacey star will appear in a sketch show featuring the England team - perhaps inspired by his sketches for Sport Relief in the past two years.
ITV have also said they will be launching 'dual screen' coverage through their website.
The initiative, called ITV Live, will allow viewers with laptops to customise ITV.com with a range of interactive elements from a chat service.
The coverage will be presented from a studio overlooking Johannesburg's Soccer City, which will host matches including the opening game and the final.
The BBC, who will share screening duties from the World Cup, announced their line-up earlier this month, which features former Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor - a current team-mate of Vieira at Eastlands.

"Sex is part of everybody's social life and it's not a problem in itself"
Liverpool duo Javier Mascherano and Maxi Rodriguez and Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez can breath a sigh of relief; Argentina manager Diego Maradona will allow his players to have sex during their World Cup campaign.
The news, which was revealed by team doctor Donato Villami on national radio, does come with certain restrictions though; players can only indulge in the courting procedure with regular partners, on non-match days and under no circumstances will they be lubricating the wooing process with alcohol. Quite what Vanessa Mansillo, wife of Manchester City star Tevez, and the spouses of Liverpool’s two midfielders will make of the rules is yet to be seen although it does appear they will have more contact with their men than their English WAG peers.
It is understood that Fabio Capello is desperate to avoid the WAG infestation which provided the British tabloids with plenty of cannon-fodder for pre-match press conferences during England’s ill-fated World Cup campaign in Germany 2006. Indeed keeping the wives and girlfriends of his 23 man squad at arm’s length appears as key to the Italian’s plan for world domination as who he should deploy on the right wing and whether Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard and Chelsea’s Frank Lampard can play together. Capello has already stripped John Terry of the England captaincy following his extra-marital bedding of Vanessa Perroncel, the former fiancé of Manchester City star Wayne Bridge, and will no doubt prefer to reserve further headaches for post-Finals celebratory hangovers.
Speaking to radio station Radio Del Plata about the situation in the Argentina camp, Dr Villami revealed:
"The players will be able to have sex during the World Cup in South Africa, but with regular partners and without champagne or other drinks.
"Sex is part of everybody's social life and it's not a problem in itself. Problems arise with the excesses: all the extras, a non-regular partner or in hours reserved for rest."
It remains to be seen whether Maradona's own daughter, Giannina, will be travelling to South Africa for the tournament. The fiancee of star striker Sergio Aguero and mother of his first son, rumours abounded in the Argentine press that Maradona threatened not to pick his future son-in-law after a rift in his relationship with Giannina developed last year. Alas, it all seems a-okay now. Phew!
Argentina, one of the favourites for the tournament, kick-off against Nigeria in Group B on June 12, and then face Greece and South Korea.
