Ibra?

Sorry I wanted this as an individual topic as it seems the forum is divided over him

I just want to ask a question if I can

I don't watch any Spanish football at all so...

Despite the fact from what I can glean that he is trouble

Is he actually any good?

hes like le tissier - no-one can strike a ball like him, no-one, he's also a lazy tosser who doesn't want to do any of the hard work

my opinion of him is that he is an extremely talented player but its his attitude that has always been in question. plus he seems to go missing in bigger games but then there are a load of 'world class' players that do that.

to be fair to the guy his goal record is very good indeed. i think he would do ok but i wouldnt go for him because i think we'd be paying about £40 odd million for him, insane wages and he is 29. he is a big gamble.

as i said in another thread we should go all out for dzeko.

Incidentally does anyone have his goal/game record for the last 2/3 seasons?

Is he prolific?

I think he's got fantastic talent but Barca will be 100% better with David Villa. If he signed & Mancini got the best out of him, he'd score hatfuls of goals & produce jaw dropping moments of skill & be our hero but it's 50/50 he'll go the other way, be like a rich man's Samaras & then he'd be really hated.

What I found worrying is the number of times he tries to control balls that he should be heading in the back of the net. As if he didn't fancy heading it. City fans would be all over him for that. Mind you we never cross the ball so it won't apply!

If I was Mancini I wouldn't risk my job on him (because that's what he'll be doing) but I'll cheer him on if he arrives.

Goals for games is no better than Ade.

I do however think we will go for Ibra - as I said in the transfer forum La Porta himself has said they are signing David Villa over at Barca which will signal Ibra's exit for my money

http://transfermarkt.co.uk/en/zlatan-ib ... _3455.html

2009/2010 FC Barcelona 16 goals in 29 games
2008/2009 Inter Milan 25 goals in 35 games
2007/2008 Inter Milan 17 goals in 26 games
2006/2007 Inter Milan15 goals in 27 games

Hmm... not much better than Adebayor looking at his stats then? Certainly not worth the 40m + Eto'o that Barcelona paid for him I think.

Would not mind having him but not for silly money like that. For that kind of money we should try to get a goal scoring machine like Dzeko or perhaps even Ibisevic from the Bundesliga. In fact I think for that kind of money we could probably buy both of them and still have some left over.

I've honestly never seen Dzeko have a good game. Whenever I watch him he can't hit a bull's arse with a banjo then gets 3 in the next game when I don't see him. Was truely awful v rags though which worries me.

Ibra tends to go for the sublime over the simple, that's the only criticism i can level against him. Like dazby said, think Le Tiss just taller... and less podgy... and well better...

I have no doubt he'd be a star here, him and ade up front with tevez sitting in the midfield/attacker hole just behind them... orgasmic.

The dude on the left is Wooders. But his opinion of Ibra I happen to agree with. ;-)

I only really watched the highlights of the bundesliga and he cropped up a fair bit, looks strong and talented to me, like a cross between roque and Ade

Ibra to us looks much much more likely now.

I've paid a bit of attention to Dzeko this season. He looks a great player in the making. He's really good with the ball at his feet. His passing and general hold up play may need some improving as well as his decisions.

Ade's, just got 14 in 26 for us, in the Pl so no, not much better than Ade's. Possibly not quite as good, can't be arsed working it out.

seems he had a good season in 08/09 though...25 in 35 is not bad at all!

I think Ade will continue to score goals at a similar rate if he plays regularly for us though & doesn't throw a mardy like at Arsenal. The question about both is; irrespective of how many goals they score, would someone else suit the team better? I think Villa will at Barca. Whether Ibrahimovic will suit us & also score goals or be a loose cannon like Ade is hard to say.

He makes Ade look like Tevez for workrate but it may suit Mancini's plan to have someone who stays in the middle.

Interesting that Silva hasnt been sold yet, and an indication that Valencia are finally letting their assets go. That would be a quality signing.

Not too sure we will end up with Ibra, as Henry is supposed to be fucking off to MLS which would leave them with Bojan, Pedro, Villa, Messi, Ibra to fight it out for 3 starting places over 60/70 games. They will all get plenty of games.
