Walmai, though none of us would relish the chance of witnessing the kind of football Big Sam or Pullis bring with them, they would be guaranteed to keep WH up. GUARANTEED.

I appreciate we've had a pretty dire season, but we're not relegation fodder on a year in, year out basis.
I'd like to think that a team with 7 players headed to South Africa might aim just a smidge higher, tbh.

(OK, two such players are McCarthy and Specs, but you get the drift).

Walmai you say you are not perenial relagation fighters thats fair comment imo but if you dont score goals which this past season you did'nt you will always struggle and where are you going to find the goals next season mate.

We scored 5 fewer than 6th placed Villa! 9 more than Birmingham, 13 more than Football Genius Pulis and only one bottom half team scored more. And they were the Mackems, with Darren Bent whacking them in.

Its the defence, Gillie, that's really let us down.

Not sure I like your current anti-City stance, Walami. Especially when you're after our managerial cast offs.

I think you'll get Grant mate or at least i hope you do, Jones and Holloway would be disasters imo.

Hughes wouldn't even consider you imo, its not being harsh, its just Hughes would want dosh to spend and would command a heavy wage too, i just don't think you boys can realistically afford him!

Avram's your man, no doubt! Personally i think he could work wonders!

Im with Walmai, would anyone really want a stoke team / pulis combo if it meant a few places up the league?

West Ham are like City, a tradtional FOOTBALLING club.

Yr right - he wouldn't consider us now, although I'm not personally sure where he'll plot up next.

One of the tabloids reported on SSN is running a story saying Grant has signed for the Hammers - I didn't catch which paper though (possibly the Mirror)

Edit: Looks like it was the Mirror: - http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Po ... 29881.html

That's your best yet. Every West Ham Fan I know was repulsed by Bellers departure... You'll be calling for Paul Ince to be given the Managers job next.

Unless you dry sense of humour strikes again!

He went on record a month back saying he was misleadingly reported about the move, never wanted it and still looks out for the team.

OK, so some boo-ed him and called all manner of names, but, in an ideal world, we'd have him back. Are you telling me that every WHU fan you know would say no to his return?

He and Ince are incomparable. As much as that feud needs forgetting too.

What Grant's done at Pompo is fairly remarkable by any standards & his Chelsea team played much better imo than the current one. I don't think there's any PL job he couldn't do.

Would you have been happy to see Sam get the job instead of Hughes - i.e. before you did the equivalent of winning the Euro Millions.

I'm right with you mate. While I'm results man myself, I would (have) loathed to see someone like Fat Sam or Pulis at City.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

He asked if we wanted Allardyce after Sven left and there's an obvious answer there. However, if we'd wanted Big Sam after Keegan left then I'd have preferred him to Pearce.
