City in for Rodwell

Postby SORTED » Sun May 16, 2010 8:48 pm

Just had a text from family in southport. Jack Rodwell's Mum is of the opinion her lad could very well be playing for City next year!

So do I! I can only imagine what Everton would want for him though. Think of a number, triple it, and add a few zeros.

We never got Rod Fanni but that's decent substitute.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Never had a good look at him, is he any good?
Is he a creative midfielder?

Rodwell is a midfielder mate not a centre back.

Plays both for everton but from what ive seen and read allways thought he was stronger at centre back, here we go just found these quotes

EVERTON starlet Jack Rodwell has the potential to become the new Rio Ferdinand, according to Arsenal hero and Sky Sports pundit Alan Smith.

“He’s comfortable on the ball and I think central midfield is where he’s best but maybe by the time he’s 23 or 24 he may be a top centre-half.

“I don’t know how Rio Ferdinand started his career but I think he started as a central midfield player and eventually moved back. He has a lot of similar qualities.” Mikkel Arteta

would love him at city but not sure on the validity of the source lol

I think the Lescott transfer showed it doesn't matter one fucking bit what Moyes wants.

It's worth us bidding for him just to annoy the twat. May as well chuck a bid in for Fellaini, Arteta, Pienaar while we are at it.

I read an article where he said he was using Rio Ferdinand as his inspiration, starting in midfield when young to help his around game before dropping back into defence later on. Things could always have changed in the past season and a half though.

Theres an article here: http://backpagefootball.com/one2watch/jack-rodwell/ about him - he made his debut as a central defender but seems (according to that article) to be thought of now more as a midfielder. Anyway he certainly has the potential for versatility that Mancini seems to value.

Can't see the point of Moyes marking any of his young players for anything in the future...The board have marked them already "FOR SALE"...

Glimpses of very good talent, but I would be afraid of going anywhere near Everton after last time.
