5 a side

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

5 a side

Postby Bingo Lewis » Tue May 04, 2010 8:17 am

A few of the lads that played when Dazby was over have been discussing about joining a powerleague, as we found out that we had some pretty fucking tasty players, so we're gonna form a ManCityfans.net FC, and get some trophies for the site. Now we have 5 top players so far, but we need 7 to make a team, plus people on stand by incase we're ever short. Now I don't mean to sound like a cunt here, but we're joining a league, so we can't have people who just fancy turning up for a kickabout, that isn't what we're going for, we going to win stuff. So what we need are 1 top keeper, and 1 top player who can play anywhere on the pitch. If you reckon you are a top player and fancy joining us in our quest for silverware let me know either on here or by PM. We desperately need a TOP keeper, so if you play in net, you're worth your weight in gold to me.

I'm a keeper!!
Where will it be played? only factor for me, i live in stockport and don't drive!

I used to run a powerleague team shit in 1st season, but back to back promotions for next 2 seasons :)
I had a clean sheet in a game too.

Not decided yet mate, could be stockport, trafford centre, or the pits.

I will try and sort you a kit out and will also arrange some more sessions at Platt Lane if people are up for it. May even sort a bleep test and some fitness training for you all......lol

Would offer my services but I am aware that there is a no female policy in power league......!!

If i was living in Manchester still Bingo i would deffo play in net for you, i used to play in net for the powerleague down in Ardwick i can't remember what the place is called now but everyone i know used to call it 'the pits' im sure a few of you know it. We always got promotion untill we couldnt go any higher then we went for the league.

Doubt I am classed in the "top 5" but would love to be in the squad and fight my way into the first team when Iv worked on my fitness! so please put me down!

Although I may get disalusioned and request a transfer to santos, but we will see!

Jokes - please put me down for the "squad"

(Andie, no rules about women coach's though I guess??)

Though I hardly covered myself in glory in the Dazby Exhibition Match, I'd like the chance to redeem myself, so count me in for the squad at least. Availability depends on the day chosen.

I can play up front, defence, or midfield, all with with the same level of, erm, competence, and am pretty two footed as it goes. In challenges anyway, haha.

Not played in the powerleagues for a couple of years, it can get pretty rum!

I'm going to set some Mancityfans.net trials up. Going to get Doug involved and we will stand on the balcony and cast our eyes over the contenders. We will look at fitness, finese and flabbyness.....:-)

It's going to be like that Sky One programme with Jaime Rednapp except without the lucrative Inter Milan contract at the end and a big hug from Jose......a big hug from Doug will have to do!!

I usually don't mind Redknapp but he really annoyed me in that show for some reason!

Ps. I missed the last few episodes, who won it?:)

Haha, fair enough! I never saw that programme but I'm glad, as I cannot stand Jamie Redknapp.
