It's one of the few occasions we get during the season when MOTD is absolutely essential viewing - I've already Sky+ed it.

Yep,

to be fair Burnley were shocking BUT, they surely must give us some credit... can only beat what's in front of you.

Alan Hanson will say '' Sir Alex this is how it should be done when you go to Turf Moor'' or maybe he wont.

Getting home to watch Match of the Day last night was the usual grim experience. How they manage to wring every last drop of joy out of football is one of life's enduring mysteries. Maybe it's the smug, crustaceous pundits, and the smarmy Gary Lineker; perhaps it's the format of having five minutes of highlights followed by ten minutes of self-serving droning; or could it be the overall vibe which makes you think you are watching some creaky old show from twenty or more years ago? Whatever, as far as I'm concerned, MotD now serves only as a curio, something to watch out of a strange fascination to see just how drab they can make some really exciting football appear. I think it might be time to re-subscribe to Sky.

Well there was one positive thing with motd yesterday. And that was watching lawros face when he had to admit that manchester city is in pole position for that fourth spot.
