Watching Through My Fingers

Postby walmai » Mon Mar 15, 2010 8:10 pm

It hasn't escaped my notice who WHU have to play on the last day of the season. And I don't think 4th place will be cut and dried until (after) that game too.

Am I right to understand that the missing games in hand you have (if you do the BBC Prem Predictor) are Spuds and Villa?

Hopefully, West Ham will be clear of Hull and Burnley by that date.

Otherwise its 90 minutes of nausea inducing viewing from the Bobby Moore upper. Bellamy would so love to send us down.

it's everton and spuds. the scouse 2 game has been scheduled, the spurs one is still pending.

Edit: And I think you will be well clear of relegation by then (at least I hope so). Perhaps not so much by your own doing, but because Burnley and Hull will keep on losing.

That doesn't make it any better. You might need all three points on the final day.

Don't worry walmai, we've got to go to Turf Moor soon and that is a must three points for us.

So I think , we'll be doing our bit for you guys. I don' t think city fans want footballing teams like West Ham to go down, it's mainly the cloggers of this world we can't stand. Like Stoke, Bolton and to some extent Wigan and Sunderland.

I'd be happy if Hull and Bolton went down with Pompey, although Pompey are in such a mess.

You'll be fine walmai, can't see anything other than Portsmouth, Hull and Burnley dropping down. You'll be well safe by the time we play at your place

You don't have to worry Walmai as we will have sewn up 4th place prior to the last game, so I'll have a word with Garry and Co to square it away, just like United did with you a few years back.

Only question is, who are you offering in exchange ;-)

The self destruction of Pompy, Hull & Burnley would make me a relieved Hammers fan. For this season at least.

If either Hull or Burnley pick up some form towards the end of the season then anyone could go down.

I'd expect nothing less, sir, although City, like West Ham, seem to have that difficulty with rising to the occasion.

Fortunately, we've chosen a fairly pedestrian year to get stuck at the wrong end of the table. Nobody seems lively enough to put on a late run to safety. I reckon Pompey are goners and that Burnley aint too far behind.

So, its between us, Hull Wolves, Wigan and maybe Sunderland and, what with Dowie being the new manager at Hull, we might avoid the drop simply by keeping our goal difference in better shape than the others.

Chanting in the BMU? You'll give yourself away.

Knew there was a twist or two to come in this campaign.

Today's results make it just slightly more likely that we're safe on the last day, but you need at least a point.

However, this is West Ham I am typing about, a team whose next destination is Anfield before the mother of all 6 pointers against Wigan.

Fasten yr seatbelts ...
(and by way of consolation, have a look at the number of times Spuds have beaten Chelsea since inception of the Prem).

You'll be fine; as much as it must taste pretty nasty at the moment to go down to an ET goal against that bunch of shites.
